First of all, I'd like to say my original title was "
The Pandaria Series – 8th Tome: (I’ve Got Some Explaining To Do) Warlocks Are Not OP! (God, Do I Miss The Days That Was Actually Said.) ”
Big title, right? I know, it was big enough so that the Wowhead didn’t let me put it! (Insert sad face here). Now, I wanted that title because I think it covers best my thoughts as I was writing this, you’ll understand most of it during the story, but here’s the explaining I decided to do:
I’m not sure if all of you played the ©
Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne extra campaign. If you did, you may not remember it but I’ll refresh your memory:
- Rexxar sees dead grunts.
- Rexxar goes to Thrall.
- Rexxar starts questing around.
- Rexxar meets Chen Stormstout.
- Rexxar meets Rokhan.
Those two highlighted ones are the reason I’m talking about this right now. Chen Stormstout is (correct me if I’m wrong here) the first pandaren to appear in a Warcraft game, and Rokhan had direct contact with him, which is the exact reason that he is the person our heroes Sargron and Corarion are looking for right now. Remember also that Rokhan was a
shadow hunter in WC3: TFT, and I’ll be treating him as one, despite the fact that his
NPC version in WoW doesn’t quite look like one.
Also, this is not the only NPC in WoW that I’ve put into appearance in the history, in fact all characters here that aren’t our heroes (Sargron & Corarion.
For now.) are actually NPCs that exist and you most likely have met them in the game, even if you don’t remember.
Note also, that this history is set before the WotLK expansion, which means it was before the Horde went full on to Northrend.
Phew! That was a big introduction! Now, on with the history, enjoy.
7th Tome: Fun Night, Rough Morning. The troll sentries stood as stone in front of the gates. They all had death in their eyes and the two travelers could tell they were thirsty for blood.
“How many do you count?” Asked Sargron, crouching in the bushes, besides Corarion, who answered:
“Ten. There’s probably another five hidden.”
“Six to be exact.” Said the orc, who now had pale grey eyes.
The blood elf knew the warlock had enchanted himself to see the unseen, and only asked numbers to show it.
“Impressive.” Sarcastically commented the paladin. “Care to show it to me?”
Sargron hen put his head over Corarion’s head and whispered:
“
Singarosh.”
Corarion’s eyes turned grey as the orc’s and he smiled.
“You’re not so useless after all.”
The blood elf unsheathed his sword from his back, about his size, magic inscriptions glittered all over it’s cold, dark, steel blade.
“Jealous?”
“When that phony thing breaks, I’ll laugh at your desperation.”
The paladin’s response didn’t come in form of words. Instead, he jumped out of hiding and thrust his sword at what would appear to be thin air, but in it’s place, a grieving sentry stood. Immediately the other guards noticed and went towards the attacker. In their fury, they failed to notice the warlock had also come out of his hiding and now cast spells on the charging group. Half of them got on their knees from the pain before reaching Corarion, the other half was weak enough so that the blood elf was able to take them out with one hit.
More guards came out of Jintha’Alor and the two intruders took them head on. Corarion parried an attack, dodged an axe and impaled a troll on his sword. Before he had time to pull it out another warrior rushed up to him, a giant club in his hands. The paladin let loose of his weapon, stuck in the body, turned around and yelled:
“
Throrkar!”
And it was like a mountain had fallen upon the head of the troll, who now stood stunned, unable to move. The blood elf took this opportunity to break his weapon free. Just as he did so and tried to catch his breath, Corarion heard Sargron scream a warning. The paladin turned around, swinging his sword, and having it met the body of a rogue that was ready to stab him from behind.
“I guess that makes us even.” Said the warlock, rejoicing as he sucked the life out of a mage, who fell down a dried husk.
Eyeing the dead body that lied before the orc, Corarion said:
“I see you’ve kept your M.O.* the same.” And then proceeded to chop the head of the stunned troll.
“Oh, the irony.” Answered Sargron.
The two then noticed the attackers had stopped coming, and the remaining ones now fled to the city. Both of them were ready to run after the defenders, but that was not necessary. Suddenly, a spinning blade came out of the forest, slitting, the chests of the three running trolls. Out of the shadows then came another troll, with skinny limbs, and bent knees. He would be taller than any tauren if not for almost walking on his hands. He wore a voodoo mask, and thousands of amulets and charms. He picked up his blade, and looked at the duel and the bodies around them.
“I be Rokhan of the Darkspear Tribe. How you doing?”
*For those of you that don’t know
