Yo no la encontré dentro de una Almeja de concha espesa. Las almejas las encontre dentro de la mazmorra de Cavernas de Brazanegra en vallefresno. La verdad que no se la probabilidad de que tiene la perla, pero yo tuve la suerte que abrí 3 y me salio una :P . Las almejas las pueden conseguir matando a cualquier elit.

Prepare to farm for a while, these have got to be one of the worst items to farm for. If you need just one you have a better chance to get one by doing the quest Blueleaf Tubers. Otherwise you'll have to farm either Big-mouth Clams or Thick-shelled Clam the drop rate from them is extremely low.

I farmed 25 Big-Mouth Clams got 1 Black Pearl and the meat you always get with the clam. I then went and farmed 55 Thick-shelled Clams and got 3 Small Lustrous Pearls and 1 Iridescent Pearl

Where most of the territory that has these is alliance or contested, but closer to alliance(so you are likely to get ganked if horde) they are MUCH more expensive for horde.

Let me give you an idea of how bad the drop rate is. First depending on what you kill you have about a 40-50% chance of getting a thick shelled clam. Each clam has a 3% chance of giving you the pearl. I spend TWO hours killing Torn Fin Murlocs just so I could get two pearls. I got to the point where if I heard another "Mrgrlgrlgrl!" I would snap. Yea, have fun farming these.

if u farm the turtles in hilsbard long enough ull get some rare drops such as river pride choker i got 2 and sold 1 on ah for 50g and they sold fast i also got some pearls along that farm i got like 4 i sold em and it turned out i needed them XD

update:
i surely broke some of my hand's bones...
but FINALLY, after 1:30 hours of farming, 170 turtle meat, 7 large venom sacks, 30 crunchy spider legs,
25 gooey spider legs, 30 crisp spider meat, 7 venom sacs, one large fang, 4 golds made from vendor trash and 63 tangy clam meat, i managed to drop:
ONE iridescent pearl..

brb, if i'm not going to commit suicide >.<
if you have my same luck, and you only need iridescent pearls, farming them is definitely not worthy, in my opinion, it'll be faster to build up the golds to buy them from the lucky people that drops them >.<

Snapjaws are excellent for farming these (given the circumstances.) I went up the stream twice in southshore-western plaguelands and got 2 iridescent pearls for my troubles. Probably the fastest way to farm these stinking things.

While I did find farming ONE of these to be extremely time consuming it was quite profitable. I choose to farm them off the Saltwater's in Hinterlands for maximum profitability.

I originally decided to farm this because I thought that AH prices of 10g per on my server were overblown, now I see I was wrong. Personally though I would farm for this item again instead of paying the quick and easy 10g because as a Skinner I came away with 74 Thick Leather (5g per stack), 14 Rugged Leather (12g per stack), and 57 Turtle Scales (12g per stack) in addition to all the Turtle Meat and ect. that the turtles drop in the place and the clam meat/other misc. pearls from the Clams. It was an hour of time that netted me about 75g and the pearl I needed and I helped some lowbies along the way by vaporizing a 68 Ally DK who thought it would be fun to attack Raventusk but instead got Windfuried into oblivion.

After what seemed like an eternity (3 hours or so) of killing turtles in hinterlands I got a load of turtle meat, some greys, 7 black pearls, 1 Small lust pearl and 2 iridescent pearls.

To think I did this to save myself 40 gold on the AH -_-

If you have a higher level toon farming for a lower level alt, the best place to farm for iridescent pearls is Blackfathom Deeps. I went there with my 62 DK and in one run netted a bag full of greens and 3 stacks of thick shelled clams out of which dropped 6 small lustrous pearls and 3 iridescent pearls.

If you're around level 30 then outzaidurs advice is great, since it's easy and you wont risk getting swarmed, but if you are a lot higher than 30 you could follow Skroflers advice and kill big groups of murlocs.

Well, the thing about drop rates, especially low ones, is that as long as it ain't a 100% chance you aren't guaranteed to find one, some people are lucky and find what they're looking for almost immediately, and others spend hours looking and find nothing. If you really want one you'll have to keep trying, but since you aren't guaranteed to find one you might want to consider if it is actually worth the time, because time is money, friend.

Was out in Blackfathom Deeps tonight, running some little ones through to one of the bosses. Kept getting thick shelled clams dropping and having giant clams under the water. In 5 runs we got 5 of these pearls, better then the grind I did last time I actually needed these, where I spent 4 hours farming turtles and murlocs and got 1. So you might try going into BFD if you can, check all the giant clams as I got 2 from those.

Spent a half hour farming the snapjaws in the river in hillsbrad/alterac mountains, didn't get a single one. Spent the same amount of time on the murlocs south and to the west of southshore and got FOUR. 63 Afflic Lock. They are close together, in high numbers, and respawn ridiculously fast. This just may be my new favorite item to farm for profit.

follow jungleye55's tip. i got 7 iridescent pearl, 3 black pearl, 4gold pearl in isle of dread south of feathermoon hold in an hour. the pearl is simply with shalzaru and his mobs. droprate is fine. if you do enchanting it would be one of the best place to disenchant green & blue items too.

By far the easiest way to get one of these is when you're not actually expecting to get one.

Here's an example: On my paladin I got 6 iridescent pearls and sold them all. When I tried to get ONE of those for a recipe on my priest I had to farm for an hour straight.

I tried what @jungleeye25 suggested. Farmed 400 Big Clams in that location, this is what I got:

23 x Greens (from the mobs there)
2 x Blues (from the mobs there)
7 x Golden Pearl
9 x Iridescent Pearl
13 x Black Pearl
4 x Small Lustrous Pearl

And 400 x Zesty Clam Meat

For the biggest part of the time, I was by myself there. Once I finished killing all mobs in the cavern, I got out, cleaned everything, then by the time came back in the cave, they were all respawned. This was done with a Shadow Priest @ lvl80.

Found within 5 minutes of pearl farming north of Revantusk Village on the eastern beaches of the Hinterlands. There are plenty of turtles there and they drop iridescent, black and sometimes golden pearls. Note: the turtles are leveled in the high 40s - low 50s.

found out that, if you want to farm the snapjaws in hillsbrad and you are a mage, you should use fire spells since the the snapjaws have a high frost immunity. You can kill them with frost but it will take a while and since i only had to use 4 fireballs to down them, i farmed alot faster.

I just went up and down the turtles outside of TM and not one of them dropped a clam and they bearly dropped turtle meat. I do not know if they were changed since 4.0.3 to 4.0.3a but they seem to no longer drop clams.

Yep up and down I got nothing for clams but I did get a lvl 17 blue leather armor that dropped, but no clams what so ever :(

Went to raventusk village and killed every turtle there and nothing from there either... Not one clam.

The turtles near raventusk and hillsbrad no longer drop clams nor do the mobs on the south shores of hillsbrad. Only place I have seem to find the clams is out of Blackfathom Deeps off every water type monster in there.
Out of 2 runs of BFD I walked away with:
80 thick-shelled clams
4 small lustruous pearl
3 iridencent pearl
103 tangy clam meat (most from the 80 thick-shelled clams others were from the giant clams)

Not sure if this is the only spot left to farm for these clams or if Blizzard made a boo boo...

For lvl 50-60 Horde the Naga on the southeast shore of the blasted lands drop a lot of clams, maybe even at the same rate as in Shalzaru's Lair. I farmed there for about 30mins and came up with an Iridescent pearl, some Small Lustrous Pearls and a Black pearl.

I tried farming those damned turtles for about 1.5 hrs and came up with nothing. I think that really this item isn't a terribly hard drop to get if you know where to farm.

Confirmed. Nagas in the The Red Reaches in Blasted Lands drop clams. The clams can sometimes contain pearls. After around 30 mins of farming, I managed to get

1 Iridescent Pearl
2 Black Pearl
3 Gold Pearl
and a ton of meat. :D

UPDATE as of the shattering -

unfortunately the cave 'jungleeye25' mentions is now underwater...the whole island is gone so thats no longer an option, neither is azshara as its now a low level area.sadface.

searching for an alternative i found quite a lot of naga in the red reaches on the south eastern tip of blasted lands, just follow the murloc slave train to find groups of them. id say its about 50% drop change on clams. results after grinding
108 clams (just under an hour at lvl 69) are

7 black pearls
1 iridescent pearl

just went to swamp of sorrows to the stalabog cave to see if its any better...its aweful dont even try, theres a few murlocs on the bottom half of the east coast but not great grinding

got 12 clams from clearing both areas (thought one did yield another iridescent pearl!)

Took about 30 mins to get one, I started with the turtles Quijafortein Hillsbrad Foothills, made my way down the river , started on the Murlocks and then checked Wowhead and noticed that the NagaCazacostas Espinadaga & Sirena Espinadaga east of Southshore also drops these clam's and trust me they dropped a lot more than the Turtles and the Murlocks and the rate of cloth was also very nice from these too, but the grind was not too bad, the cloth and meats gained sold very well on my AH.

But good luck grinding these pearl's and they will make a nice profit as someone was willing to pay 500g for one as they were leveling enchanting on an alt and just could not be bothered to grind so these will make money for sure as you need this to make the golden rod for enchanting, and most people just want to power lev these days so they will pay good :D

Misty Reed Strand - Swamp of Sorrows
Farmed Murlocs and then fished after eliminating them. Took 10 mins and had 1 Iridescent Pearl, 1 Black Pearl, 1 Bolt of Runecloth, 3 Thick Leathers, 18 Zesty Clam meats & 3 greens for 40s level. That all came from the 20 big-mouthed clams & 1 mithril bound trunk. Fishing there also garnered Rumsey Rum Black Label x 4 from wreckage.

This was way better cache than farming Hillsbrad turtles or murlocs.

I killed Snapjaw's in hillsbrad and it took me about 1h 20min and I killed 312 snapjaw's.. filled 32 slots in my bag and like 12 of them where stacks of 20. But the drop chance of the clam's are kinda low too...

Do NOT farm snapjaws, they have 10-20% drop rate of clams (from my personal experience) and are incredibly spread out. What I did instead is went south down the river to the daggerspine Naga and killed all of them (head south east along the shore, lots of them!). After killing 2-3 respawns of them, they slowed down in spawn rate, but their drop rate was much better imo! Not to mention the fact that they're closer together and drop wool/silk (which sells for a reasonable amount... mine aswell make some G right?). As soon as they slowed down in spawn rate I went up made 1 run of the turtles went back down and killed the naga again. Rinse, repeat.

I got my iridescent pearl after:

55 x Tangy Clam Meat
2 x Small Lustrous Pearl

I also got:

63 x Wool
9 x Silk

Not bad. (:

Oh and it only took me about... 20-30 minutes?

Cavernas de Brazanegra is a great place to farm for thick shelled clam.. except the drop rate on the pearl is horrendous. Easy as an 85 but it was still a pain nonetheless or the RNG god's hated me. I did half clear of BFD, up to the twilight portion and cleared the caves outside 2 times until I finally opened a shell and got a pearl. Got plenty of Carne de almeja ácida, at least 40. I had to dump some to make room in my bags. Glad I only needed 1 for the Vara rúnica de oro.

After about 30+ minutes from farming the naga on the south shoreline of the Hillsbrad Foothills from the Ruins of Southshore to Dun Garok, i got 61 Tangy Clam Meat, 3 Small Lustrous Pearl, 3 stacks of Linen Cloth, 3.5 stacks of Wool Cloth, 3 green equips and 1 Iridescent Pearl along with several other little trash items. GL if you want to farm for the iridescent pearl; another place that may be worth trying is Black Fathom Deeps.

Iridescent pearls drop out of thick-shelled clams, too. Doing the RAF deal, I decided to run my alts (I have three accounts) through Blackfathom Deeps on my 71 frost DK.

I walked out with 6 of the iridescent pearls, 2 small pearls, and ~6 stacks of Tangy Clam Meat. The clam meat usually sells pretty well (~28g/stack last time I sold it), and the iridescent pearls sell for about 50-80g each on my server.

Definitely try Blackfathom if you're looking for just the Iridescent Pearl. Loot the clams on the floor of the water-filled areas, because two of mine came from those. (As well as an alchemy recipe and a green or two.)

I ran through maybe three to four times, but I was leveling alts, and I'm sure you can get at least one pearl within a run or two.

Spent two days farming Snapjaws, murlocs, and naga in Hillsbrad, didn't get a single iridescent. Friend tipped me off to go into BFD and try the clams littered through the instance. Oh. My. God.

Practically every mob in there has a very high drop rate for the Almeja de concha espesa and by the time I got to Ghamoo-ra I had gotten so many clams it wasn't even funny. Nestled in there was my precious Iridescent, now I can finally get on with my life and my enchanting (too broke to buy an Iridescent off the AH xD). I seriously suggest you try looting the clams inside BFD as well as the naga, murlocs, crabs, etc.

Earlier while I looking on wowhead, I saw the Giant Clams as an alternative option for farming, and I remembered that when I saw one in BFD. I thought eh, might as well look in this too, and what do i find on the FIRST one? an Iridescent Pearl!

I opened 100x Giant Clam: I got 100x Blue Pearl and 34x Carne de almeja ácida.
I'm very unlucky or database is outdated.
See Blue Pearl can be obtained by Giant Clam and are not listed in the database.

Just Been in blasted lands powering through the quests. Found x3 out of 20 clams dropped by the nagas in the area. Southeast of the blasted lands along the coast. Also found x5 Black pearls and x7 Small Lustrous Pearl out of 59 clams. Easy to farm also clams drop zesty clam meat for cooking. Enjoy! :)

The best place I have found to farm big mouth clams are in the blasted lands, along the southeastern shore. The droprate from the naga (lvl 55ish) seems to be almost 1 per/mob. After farming about 40 clams, I received 2 iridescent pearls and 1 black pearl.

Well, I was farming Nagas south of Ruins of Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills....
I killed about 120 nagas, and got only one Iridescent Pearl - so you have to farm alot

Took 20 minutes, but I got my pearl in Northern Stranglethorn Vale.

The Giant Clams have a chance to drop the pearls and the Murlocs in the Vile Reef drop Almeja de concha espesa so there's multiple ways to farm them. Of course you'll want some sort of underwater breathing/swim speed to make things a little less painful.

There's a group of murlocs around the ruins (26,44) and shipwreck (28,51), other than that I made circles around the Vile Reef.

okay so, you will go at swamp of sorrows, at the south half part of the east beach, there are some murlocs which seem to have the chance of about 80?% of the big-mouth clam, thats the best way ive found untill now, also the beach is FULL of those murlocs and on the south part of it, there is a camp to the west, that has some spawns aswell, try it.

Drop rate still sucks in 4.2. I cleared it on my 62 DK and got 2 of them in one run. Both of them came from the "Snapping Crustacean". Fortunately it's all I needed for the boots my little priest wants to make. I did pick up a ton of clam meat though and that sells very well on my server.

Opened Over 100 thick shelled clams and about the same amount of big mouthed clams from nagas in Blasted lands w/o any luck! (Got some black pearls though)

I think the law of diminishing returns applies here. Check the AH price and look at some real data. The above posters that get there drop on the first or second try are so overwhelmed with gratitude and more likely to come back and post here. Such as:

However, the reality is that these post contain very little data to ascertain any sort of real drop rate. The sample size is just to small. which is why you have guys like me... That farm 4 stacks of Thick-shelled Clams and get no Iridescent Pearl. We are so underwhelmed with gratitude and overwhelmed with irritation we forget about coming back here and posting, we begrudgingly by it of the AH cause we reallize that 60g really was worth the hours of farming and getting nothing.

But Seriously Here is my data:
Farmed 81 x from Eastern Strand Nagas. I didn't keep track of the drop rate of the clams, I estimate its between 20-30%

First I got about 20 Thick-Shelled Clams from the turtles in Hillsbrad and got nothing
It took to long to get the shells so i tried the nagas in Hillsbrad in the south, they had much better drop rate but i got about 180 shells and got only 12 other pearls
Then i went to hinterlands and killed the turtles there, got about 10 shells but it took to long to get them.
Then i read more on the comments and saw that soemone did mention that it may be a better chance to get them in Gnomergan of Sparklematic-Wrapped box which you get of the machines, so i tried it and killed all troggs in there, it took 10-15 min, then I put the things i got from the troggs into the machine, i found about 20 things which you need to put into the machines. It also costs 3 silver every time. After the 10th box i recieved I got the stupid Iridescent Pearl!
Btw there was no pearl on ah so thats why I needed to do this.

Ok, Here is the best spot to farm these shinny pearls.

Forget BFD, or Murlocs, Snapjaws, etc. When I was looking for this pearl to create an enchanted golden rod on my enchanter alt, I looked in the Auction House and on my server the cost around 250-300g each.

I came here to look for information about where to farm it, the first 2-3 pages are full with outdated information (pre-shatter spot locations) and the updated information, mainly talks about BFD, and Murlocs in Southshore. So I looked around and decided to try on Blasted Lands, where the Nagas around the southeastern cost are - The Red Reaches.

I got my Iridescent Pearl in my 3rd clam (i know right?), but I had enough time, so I decided to do some more research to post here some useful information as most of the information here is numbing and confusing.

I spent 15 minutes farming around The Red Reaches (located here).

In the map there are 3 main locations which I ran through 3 times during this 15 minutes:

The first one is in the cave, lots of mobs, excellent drop rate of Big-Mouth Clams.
The second one is below the cave (coors: 60.6,69.5; 60.4,74.5). Many Bloodwash Idolater, and the best part is they're around a big blue circle, just standing there, and there are some moving around, and just below the blue circle there is a shrine, with more of them. PS: There's a rare spawn which will drop a: Flawless Draenethyst Sphere
The Third one is here, where you'll find Bloodwash Gambler gathered around small "water arenas" like Bloodwash Idolater some of them are just standing there, and some are moving around.

I spent 15 minutes farming around here are my result:

12g Worth of coins and trash loot
63 Zesty Clam Meat
3 Green Items (ilvl 53-59)
63 Runecloth
1 Imperfect Draenethyst Fragment
1 Flawless Draenethyst Sphere -- Rare Spawn

2 Iridescent Pearls
2 Small Lustrous Pearls
2 Black Pearls
1 Golden Pearl

Final Conclusion: Excellent drop rates, for clams and cloth (Runecloth), they're just level 55-57 with roughly 2.8-2.9k HP, so I was able to 1-shot them with my level 85 Warlock using only 1 Fel Flame (even the rare spawn mob). I found all my loots to almost always contain cloth or clam (or both together) and rarely nothing dropped (besides coins).

2nd Run --- So today I decided to go there again, to make sure that it wasn't just lucky (and to prove I'm not just full of lies).

With the knowledge about where to go after my first run, things went smoother, with a 15 minutes run (15 minutes 23 seconds exactly), here are the results:

83 Big-Mouth Clams
96 Runecloth
3 Green Items (ilvl 56-57)
1 Aquamarine
2 Imperfect Draenethyst Fragment

83 Zesty Clam Meat
4 Black Pearls
1 Iridescent Pearls
2 Small Lustrous Pearls

2nd Final Conclusion: Because I knew where to go (my first run even though was clumsy had pretty good results in terms of grinding = time efficiency) I was able to kill more in the same period of time, thus increasing my clams drops. Also it's an excellent spot to farm Runecloth as you get clams they stack up pretty fast. I was able to drop again another Imperfect Draenethyst Fragment (as a matter of fact 2), even though I wasn't lucky enough to find the rare respawn again. On my clam drops, I received lots of Black Pearls(4), and only 1 Iridescent Pearl, well I suppose doesn't matter as it is randomly generated. Good luck and good hunt to all of you reading it.

The second murlock I killed in the purple area of Northern Stranglethorn, didn't drop a giant clam, but it did drop the iridescent pearl.

Best place to farm these is off of Cazacostas Espinadaga and similar NPCs along the coast southeast of Ruins Of Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills - I farmed for around 10 mins on a 85 mage and got 3 Perla iridiscente out of 25 or so Almeja de concha espesa

Farmed 100 Almeja de boca grandes from Nagas at "The Red Reaches" and nearby "Bloodwash Cavern".

The Red Reaches are for mid-50's. If you need this pearl near level 40 as I did..

They can be found in the Almeja de boca grandes that drop from Zancudo de mareas and Turtles just southeast from Gadgetzan in Tanaris.

Took me 10 minutes and just over one loop of the Tidal Striders to get one to drop. Got it off the 3rd respawn from where I started. These are level 44-45 NPC's and I did this for my level 38 rogue that needed the Runed Golden Rod for enchants and I refused to pay $100g-$150g for one at the AH. Had I realized it was so easy to find one in Tanaris, I would have never looked in AH. At the time I was questing in Thousand Needles so it was a quick boat ride to get it.

Here's what I got from the Clams drops after just over one circle:
16x Zesty Clam meat (useful if you get the recipe from the NPC in Tanaris)
1x Black Pearl
1x Small Lustrous Pearl
1x Iridescent Pearl

I have been farming the Big-Mouth Clams from the Tidal Striders in Tanaris around the 54 - 39 mark. They have a very high drop rate for the clams and an insane respawn rate.

Went to the Blasted Lands, killing naga's at the Red Reaches.

101 Big-Mouth clams gave me:
3 iridescent pearls
4 golden pearls
5 black pearls
1 small lustrous pearl

Also got a few greens, 8 stacks of runecloth and one purple : Axe of the Deep Woods and 2 Imperfect Draenethyst Fragments.

Black Fathom Deeps: took me longer to get there than to get a pearl once I was there.

Low level (alt) on different realm than my main, so I didn't have the advantage of 1. farming pearls with a high level char, or 2. just buying it from the auction house.

Killing the Tidal Striders, in Tararis, just south east of Gadgetzan seems to be the best way to do this that I have found, as they drop the Big-Mouth Clam almost 100% of the time. Be that as it may It still took over two hours and 107 clams to get ONE Iridescent Pearl, so I think we can safely say the drop rate for it is 1% at best, despite the luck of some people.

As of the pre-MoP patch, enchanting rods are no longer in the game therefore these pearls lose a huge chunk of their value. In fact, they're practically downright worthless considering they're only used in old recipes that, frankly, nobody cares about.

Just tried N4rt0n's spot today on my 85 retri paladin (iLvL 399) to farm 2 Iridescent Pearls for my lock alt's shoes and it took me 21 minutes to kills 100+ nagas which dropped 95 clams (got 95 Zesty Clam Meats) which contained:

5x Black Pearl
2x Small Lustrous Pearl
2x Golden Pearl
2x Iridescent Pearl

Apart from that I got 117 Runecloth (literally, 117!), 3 uncommon drops, a Two of Warlords Darkmoon card and an unknown amount of coins (roughly 3-5s/drop).

the best place to farm iridescent pearls is from the nagas along the shore (and in their cave) on blasted lands. droprate for big-mouth clams is really high. out of 75 clams i got 3 black pearls, 4 gold pearls, 3 iridescent and 2 small lustrous pearls. also since you farm the pearls from humanoids u will get tons of runecloth and other junk more valuable than from farming turtles in alterac or hinterlands. /junkyardjuju

Worth noting that if your character is high enough level to be phased for WoD content in Las Tierras Devastadas, all the great Naga spots N4rt0n mentions will be completely abandoned, with no Nagas in sight.

Firstly to farm Red Reaches now you need to go visit the NPC that sends you back in time or the Naga dont appear. After farming the Bloodwash Fighting Pits Area about 15 mins I got 60 Big-Mouthed clams from which I got 2 iridescent Pearls, 3 Black Pearls and 2 Golden pearls. I also got 2 Perfect Draenethyst Fragments for quest hand in which if your lucky will give you something rare.

Did as everyone here has suggested and farmed pre-WoD Red Reaches naga. Out of 200 big mouth clams I got:

4 x Small Lustrous Pearl
4 x Golden Pearl
10 x Black Pearl
6 x Iridescent Pearl

It took me around 45 minutes to collect that many clams so despite the low drop rate, they are easy to farm.
