Venoxis es el primer boss de Zul'gurub, sus ataques se basan en el veneno (daño de naturaleza).

Al empezar el combate Venoxis usará que lentamente ira dibujando un laberinto de veneno en el patio. Cruzar estas lineas de veneno supone una muerte casi segura.
Venoxis empezará el combate en forma humanoide, usando Susurros de Hethiss que se debe cortar lo antes posible y Vínculo tóxico que unirá a dos miembros del grupo, estos deben separarse el uno del otro para romper el vínculo procurando no acercarse a los demas ya que se produce un area de efecto al romper el hechizo.
En algún momento del combate Venoxis utilizará convitiendose en un hombre serpiente y cambiando sus habilidades. Usará con frecuencia Aliento de Hethiss en la dirección del tanque. Nadie, incluido el tanque, debe permanecer delante del boss (hasta 10m) mientras utiliza el aliento. Tambien colocará charcos de veneno debajo de los jugadores (al parecer tiene preferencia sobre los dps rango y el curador.
Despues de un tiempo, Venoxis subirá al altar y usará que crea 3 chorros de veneno que persiguen a los jugadores haciendo daño de area.
Al terminar esta habilidad, Venoxis sufrirá Extracción venenosa recibiendo el doble de daño durante 10 segundos. Una vez recuperado volvera a empezar el ciclo desde el principio.

Apartarse del veneno, cortar los susurros y romper los vinculos

Supongo que eso es del PTR, ya he hecho el encuentro satisfactoriamente tres veces y hay algunas diferencias:

Aliento de Hethiss: No tiene porque lanzarlo al tanke, también lo puede hacer a un dps melé.
Los charcos de veneno todas las veces que lo he visto poner lo hace justo debajo suyo.
Los vínculos es un enlace entre dos personajes aleatorios y hace que se hagan daño entre ellos hasta que se alejen entre ellos.

Venoxis is the first boss of heroic 5-player Zul'Gurub, and still at the same old location as he was once in the raid version. Head over the two wooden bridges and enter the spacious area with an altar. This is an accurate map of his location.
Venoxis is guarded by two s; pull them out of the room and tank them near where everyone can refresh Tormento tóxico from it. When one of them stands still, it means that you have to avoid its spew. Refresh the buff when it is removed by them or runs out.
Get the buff from the Poison Cauldron in front of the entrance to gain an initial advantage over Venoxis' nature-based attacks. Have the tank pull the boss off his altar but stay away from his platform at first, as he immediately casts an AoE. The archway will be blocked by a green barrier by this time, and you can't refresh the buff.
Green patches of poison will be drawn in a pattern on the ground, avoid stepping over these lines. Occasionally Venoxis creates a Vínculo tóxico between two players which deals constant damage to those two and nearby players. Break the link by running away from each other, but try to run in a direction where no one else is, as a will occur as a result of breaking the link.
Once the boss transforms in a snake (), you need to be aware of his frequent spew attacks (Aliento de Hethiss) and his Charco de lágrimas acres, both of which will kill you immediately if you don't get out.
If you keep dying in this phase, consider just running through the maze for as long as Venoxis is in serpent form. This relieves you of an added difficulty in fighting (thanks to Lycaon).
At a point Venoxis will walk back to his altar, beginning to cast Ponzoña sanguinaria. Avoid the created poisonous tendrils that follow after random players. After this, he will be exhausted for ~5 seconds and begin the circle anew.

As of today on the PTR, it seems the best strategy during Phase 2 (snake phase) is to stop DPS completely and concentrate solely on running the maze constantly to avoid the which causes around 40k damage per 0.5 seconds (according to both experience and this similarly named but differently detailed ability ). This amounts to approximately 1.5 seconds to notice AND move out of the pool, which in most cases will result in a near instant death (120k damage over 1.5 seconds) if you are not actually moving when the pool hits you. Lack of DPS from this phase is made up after Venoxis does his which also does approximately 40k damage, except every 1.0 seconds instead of 0.5. However, it is still a quick killer and you can still take damage by being in between Venoxis and the beam target endpoint.

This guy is actually soloable for a DK tank if the rest of your group wipes, even early on.

Just Mind freeze/AMS/Strangulate the Whispers in the first phase.
Stay off of the poison lines and out of the poison pools. Avoid his poison spray.
If you are the only one left, his Toxic Link doesn't do anything.
Run away from the tendril thing (but avoiding poison on the ground).

Rinse, repeat.

During phase 1, his channeled spell Whispers of Hethiss should be interrupted if at all possible. Given that he casts it roughly every 6 seconds, you're either going to need someone with a very short interrupt cooldown or a couple people to interrupt this.

During phase 2, his Breath of Hethiss will kill anyone caught in it, including tanks. With a 1.5 second cast time, it's easy to see coming and, once he begins the cast, his direction is set. Simply step behind him and you're safe. It's easy to avoid but even a single mistake on it can mean a dead tank/melee DPS.

Really tough fight. Think I wiped on it some ~8 times. Amusingly, on the kill, everyone but me (blood DK) and a hunter died. Him and I proceeded to duo it. A blood DK can indeed solo the encounter as mentioned above, if you learn how to avoid all the avoidable dmg. It's easier when a few people have died off.

Guide to Venoxis:

This is a 3-Phase encounter.

When you start the encounter you will notice a green pulse on the ground slowly crafting a maze. Do not touch the walls of the maze or touch the pulse itself or else you will take massive damage.

Phase One Abilities:

Toxic Link: Think of this as the opposite of Pact of the Darkfallen in the Blood Queen encounter in Icecrown Citadel. A green beam will link two players together, dealing damage to both of them and every other player around them each tick. To break this link, the players need to spread away from each other, breaking the link will also cause some damage.

Whispers of Hethiss: It is similar to penance except it is much more rapid and lasts longer. (INTERRUPTABLE)

Phase Two Abilities:

Breath of Hethiss: Venomguard Destroyers also used this ability, it was countered with a cauldron but this time you don't have one. Venoxis will start spitting poison in a frontal cone, dealing massive amounts of damage. The tank can simply move out of the breath to avoid the massive damage.

Poison Pool: Venoxis will create poison pools near players which will grow in size before disappearing at the start of phase 3. These deal massive damage so don't stand in them obviously. Also, the tank must move Venoxis immediately out of them.

Phase Three Abilites:

In this phase Venoxis will begin to channel an ability called Bloodvenom. This ability creates a beam that will slowly follow players, if you get to close to them you will take damage, also it is necessary to kite these beams through the maze avoiding the walls.

After the channeling is complete, Venoxis will become Weakened. While he is weakened he will take 100% more damage, this only lasts for a few seconds.

After being weakened it will then repeat to Phase One and cycle until he is dead.

If you do happen to die, you can run back in and get back into the fight. You have to run up the path like you are going to the second boss, hug the left wall and right near the path leading up to the boulders/second boss, you can jump off the edge back into the fight. Venoxis is now sadly quite a pushover from how he was at 60, however there is a silver lining.
I've been pugging zg quite a bit since patch and in true pug fashion everyone shortbusses this boss, so instead of wiping, tanks with self heals just go ahead and solo him, he hits like a little girl, most of his damage coming from ground poisons and cone attack.
Takes a while but damnit there's a point that needs proving, and that's ...well ok I don't know what that point is but ill be damned if I dont prove it.

This is an easy boss but it can also be the hardest boss too. why? cos some group members just step on the venom trail, or worse, go through it! everyone! you cannot touch the venom at all. stop it!

It should also be noted that you cannot jump over the toxic walls once they are upon the ground. Doing so will caused a tick of damage equal to what simply stepping on acid pool.

Spread out

Tank the boss at the foot of the stairs in the middle. All ranged and the healer spread out along the back of the area, with the healer in a middle-back position so everyone can be reached to be healed and other dps far right, far left, spread out from each other as much as possible.

This gives two advantages.

Firstly the Toxic Link will break immediately when it's placed upon players, giving no "tick" damage and reducing the healing needed a lot.

Secondly players don't have to run away with Toxic Link to break it, meaning they don't accidentally run into green stuff, don't run out of range of the healer and have more time to notice where the green pathways are being made. Which means they know where they can run in the next phase.

I did this with 3 ranged dps and it worked brilliantly. I've never seen the tank get Toxic Link yet, I can't find out for definite if tanks are never affected by it. If they aren't then one melee beside the tank should still be out of range from the ranged dps to break Toxic Link immediately. The aoe when the link breaks will hit the tank too but tanks aren't taking a lot of damage in this fight apart from the Breath.

If you have 2 melee, well... good luck, and hey one will probably die at some point anyway.

To add to the solo guide, a couple of quick recovery and stability tips:

Pop a soft cooldown when he turns into his snake form such as boneshield or DRW.
Save Death pact if you manage to get stuck with the poison puddles (He still outputs the same amount as if there were 5 players and as you can imagine it gets rather hectic.)
Death strike is potent after touching the poison wall, use it if you do alongside a Rune Tap
Interrupts are key, make sure to save strangulate for when you REALLY need it; antimagic shell will still let two ticks of his channel through.

Can be Solo'd by a Blood DK.

Pug group was Frost DK, Dps Priest, Heals Priest, DPS Warrior and Blood DK

75% DPS Priest went down, 50% heals and warrior went down

from then on both dk's 2 manned him at 20% it was just the blood dk...doing fine went through both phases like it was nothing.

So im guessing that yeah, this can be solo'd

A pally tank can solo him as well.

a few things to note

if only 1 person is alive, he wont deal damage with toxic link.

breath of hethiss is simple to avoid. just run behind him when hes about to cast it. with good timing you wont get hit by it ever again.

as a pally tank save your avenger shield for whispers. combined with rebuke you can interrupt every whisper attack in the phase.

and for bloodvenom. run to a spot where nobody is and stand there waiting for him to cast bloodvenom. when he does just run really far away. the venom will start from where you were last so you dont have any worries.

solo'able as a pally tank.

i just 2-man venoxis, all dps died at before he used blessing of the snake god for the first time, hes not that hard, just follow mechanics correctly, and u will own him no problem :)

This fight absolutely punishes melee in comparison to ranged. Got the not easy being green achievement on my first attempt on my hunter, but almost always die on my DK while being responsible for all the interrupts.

Ranged dps don't have an excuse not to avoid green on this fight. Melee, hope and pray you have a good tank, otherwise you have a choice of standing in the green stairs, in a puddle, or in front of the boss, unless you want to run away to survive while everyone complains that you didn't interrupt.

Is there anything that governs where the small green pools (Pool of Acrid Tears) spawn in phase 2? I always assumed they were cast at a random player, but the last few fights I've had significant problems by getting trapped in a corner by like 6-8 of them on my warlock, while all the other ranged players are almost, or completely left alone. I'm wondering if this is just bad luck, or if there's something I'm doing that makes them like me more.

If you die, you can corpse run in, mount up and circle through Venoxis' area and jump in from the higher part and go back to fighting. Be careful of pulling the turtle (it can go through the entrance midfight-wall) as well as landing on the poison maze.

I expect a hotfix for that should happen anytime soon though.

This boss might be soloable by MM hunters soon, right now with drums and nature resistance, I can self heal past a lot of the mechanics, and my pet can take the damage, but the toxic link still affects me. If you distracting shot and deterrence right before the link, you may bypass it. I'll keep trying

Theres nothing in the patch notes about it. but the damage from breaking toxic link seems to have been reduced a lot. I remember it hitting fairly hard, but just did it and breaking toxic link barely scratched people.

From the healer's perspective:

This is a very easy fight, provided everyone does what they are supposed to do. I found it best to stand fairly close to the tank in a spot where the maze will open up to a clear spot. Not in melee range, but not with the ranged folks either.

The key here is to interrupt every time you can. If you focus mainly on that, and people stay out of the bad, your time here will be easy. If you don't have a macro that interrupts your target's target, then use '/cast Wind Shear' but without the quotes and replace Wind Shear with your own interrupt.

What goes wrong: Massive damage dealt from Whispers of Hethiss not being interrupted.

What to do: This is an easy enough fight (when handled properly) that you should have time to do the interrupts yourself. The mana and time you spend doing the interrupt will save you tons of both from trying to heal through the damage. If you don't have a macro that interrupts your target's target, then use '/cast Wind Shear' but without the quotes and replace Wind Shear with your own interrupt. This may mean you have to get into melee range if your interrupt is a melee attack -- if so, then so be it. It is still better than trying to outheal WoH.
