I am not too familiar with BRD, so I was a bit confused by the quest description, but the Stones are all around the inner circle of Shadowforge City, a little bit after Fineous Darkvire. Pretty simple. Should take no less than a half hour in that incredibly long instance.

really simple quest, go to left when u get into BRD, take the next right. there will be a npc by a door. go in that door and make ur away around there. they look like big tall floating things

This quest was solo-able for me as a level 50 Worgen Warlock. I did die three or four times, but my character isn't in a guild so I opted to try it alone instead of using the random dungeon finder.

That said, the stones as mentioned aren't far into the instance so it's not problematic to get there by yourself. I did have to use howl of terror and the Voidwalker's sacrifice to hit a few of the stones, but that's not too unreasonable considering I'd guess this was intended to be a group affair.

To sum up the trip, I went in with 100% armor and 0/6 stones captured, and left 53% and ready to turn-in.

extra comment on the solo thingie: the stones respawn on a reset. so the first three stones that you can reach fairly easy can be done twice, just reset the dungeon:)

What is the purpose of this quest? Did it replace a quest taken away before Cataclysm?

The purpose is to get horns for your lock.

~~i dont get why the horde version can be used by any race that can be a warlock, yet the alliance version is limited to gnomes and worgen....~~

just did this on my human warlock, so i do not know why it says only Gnomes and Worgen at the top, but it appears its open to all races that can be warlocks.

Post-Cata class quest that rewards the T1 helm lookalike.

A list of all classes are as follows:

Deathknight : No T1, no dice.

Druid: Breath of Cenarius - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Cenarion Helm. Both the alliance and the horde gets the quest from the same NPC.

Hunter: The Golem Lord's Creations(A)/The Golem Lord's Creations(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Giantstalker's Helmet.

Mage: The Pyromancer's Grimoire(A)/The Pyromancer's Grimoire(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Arcanist's Crown.

Paladin: Weapons of Darkness(A)/Weapons of Darkness(H)/Weapons of Darkness(Blood Elf) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Lawbringer's Helm, also rewards Blood Elf paladins with the Blood Knight Tabard.

Priest: Twilight Scheming(A)/Twilight Scheming(Blood Elf)/Twilight Scheming(Goblin)/Twilight Scheming(Tauren)/Twilight Scheming(Troll)/Twilight Scheming(Undead) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Circlet of Prophecy.

Rogue: The Dark Iron Army(A)/The Dark Iron Army(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Nightslayer Cover.

Shaman: Slaves of the Firelord(A)/Slaves of the Firelord(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Earthfury Helmet.

Warlock: Stones of Binding(A)/Stones of Binding(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Felheart Horns.

Warrior: A Dangerous Alliance(A)/A Dangerous Alliance(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Helm of Might.

These rewards are also quite good at their level if you don't have a heirloom helmet for your alt(s). I also have no idea why the horde priests get race specific quests.

There are more than 6 of these stones, so you aren't looking for a specific set of items. You zone in, turn left, go through that gate (remember, they removed the keys a while back, so easy peasy), immediately turn right and go through that gate, then take the door on your left; there's a dwarf standing next to it now. There is one of the stones in that room, hit the bridge cog in the back of the room, then go up the ramp where the first fireguard paths. Continue straight into the upper part of the Ring of Law, go around it to the other side, and down that ramp, there will be tons of Twilight humanoids down here, and lots of stones, go right pick up those two, then turn around and go back left and pick up those stones along the way. Keep going down that left path and you'll cross a bridge with 2 pairs of Fireguard mobs on each side, once across you'll be in The Domicile, and should be able to grab any remaining Stones you might need. Hope this helps, once I got in and started wandering around it turned out to be way easier than I thought it would be; enjoy your new mogging piece!

[I have it on good authority that SI:7 is concerned about collaboration between Twilight's Hammer and the Dark Iron dwarves in Blackrock Depths. We can act on this information, prove our value to the Alliance, and gain something for ourselves at the same time.

The report mentions that the Twilight's Hammer followers have placed a number of elemental binding stones throughout Shadowforge City, the Domicile, the Shrine of Thaurissan, the West Garrison and the East Garrison. Find and capture those stones!]
