Check north of The Violet Stand on the map.

The trees you need to cut down with the provided axe grow up out of the grown. Just click on the tree and it should highlight. Then click on the axe to cut em down.

Nice tip for druids that use quartz (or any latency cast bar detector)

when you hit your axe button and start casting the ''chopping'' action, hit your flight form button during the latency part of the cast (red part at the end).

It will enable you to take flight with your 2 planks before entering combat with the treant. You will probably still get hit once, but just go maybe 20 yards in the air (to exit combat) and go to your next tree to chop. With a little practice (by the 2nd time i was doing this quest) i had mastered the timing perfectly and i never have to fight the treants. Chop, bird form, go up a bit, go to next tree. the whole quest takes maybe 45 seconds with this trick.

This quest item can be gathered past its quest requirement limit.

Very useful tip for people that don't like to fly south just for these planks. I just chopped 3 stacks (60) of them in about 3 minutes (flight form trick).

I was wondering yesterday why i had 2 leftover. It's because i chopped 14 and turned in the quest. Today i tried to abuse it and it is indeed working. 60 planks will last you for 5 dailies. (Unless fixed in future patch of course.)

The quest item is safe to delete due to the quest is no longer available nor is the "A Chip off the Ulduar Block" daily for the building is built now as of 3.2. This was used in "Jack Me Some Lumber" daily.
