Just some assorted World of Warcraft and Blizzard-related news from Blizzard and around the web that we thought might interest you guys!
Blizzard Looking For Console Developers?
The Diablo III community website was recently updated with a surprising news post from Blizzard, looking for console developers with which to explore a "Diablo-related concept." Interesting...
We’re exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles and are currently looking to fill a few senior console-related positions on the Diablo III team. As we’ve said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we’re interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in such a project. If you’re passionate about all things Diablo and have the requisite skill and experience, then head over to our jobs site to check out the positions and apply.
Please note that this is not an announcement of a console title. We are first and foremost developing Diablo III for Windows and Mac PCs and don’t intend to allow any possibility of a console interpretation to

Read the preview snippet below and follow the link to the real deal!
An island off the coast of the Eastern Kingdoms, Tol Barad is a historic land now sought-after by the leaders of the Horde and the Alliance. Its strategic, isolated location makes it an ideal stronghold from which to conduct military strikes. In World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, a battle will be waged to seize control of this prized territory. Should you triumph, unique rewards await you. Patch 4.0.3 Now Live, World Not Destroyed Just Yet

Patch 4.0.3 is now available for download via the Launcher
, and with it comes some rather not-so-interesting (though well-appreciated) changes.
This is not the major pre-Cataclysm patch featuring the changed world
(a.k.a. The Shattering). That patch (4.0.3a) will likely come in the next few weeks. In addition, this patch does not activate new class/race combinations or any other major Cataclysm changes. However, there are still a few things worth mentioning!
Cataclysm Trailer Cinematic Button Added to Login Screen
There's now a button on the Wrath of the Lich King login screen's Cinematics menu which allows you to watch the Cataclysm cinematic trailer.
However, apparently this button doesn't work yet. Oh well, in the meantime there's always YouTube...

New Forums Going Up This Wednesday
15/11/2010 a las 20:27
Bashiok has just posted on the official forums to let us know that they'll be transitioning to the new forums on Wednesday!
The old forums will be converted to "Read-Only" status, and all future posts will go onto the new community site we mentioned
a little while ago.
This Wednesday, November 17 these forums will be put into a read-only state. At that time we'll be inviting all posters to fully migrate to the new World of Warcraft community site and forums.
These forums will remain read-only until the end of the month, after which they and all of their posts will be removed ... forever! If you have any posts, information, stickies, etc. that you'd like to keep you'll want to have finished saving it before then.
We've all enjoyed the past few years on these forums, and look forward to creating many more with you on the new community site. See you there!
Tame a Boss! Chromaggus & More New Hunter Pets in Cataclysm Beta!
15/11/2010 a las 16:29
Just a little note for all you Beast Masters and hunter pet collectors out there! The definitive hunter pet blog
recently reported that everyone's favorite chromatic
is now tameable in the latest Cataclysm Beta build! I don't know about you guys, but this is my old school hunter's greatest nerd dream come true. Chromaggus isn't the only new Core Hound we'll be seeing in Cataclysm - there's another new skin available to hunters, a slightly more yellow-tinged beastie by the name of
who can be found romping around in
Las Tierras Devastadas
. But honestly, who cares about that guy - CHROMAGGUS! For those who prefer a more "classic" Core Hound look, it's worth mentioning that
is now tameable as well.
Check out some other awesome new hunter pet additions after the break!

Gamon's Cataclysm Beta Buff Still Isn't Enough, Taken Down by Raid
15/11/2010 a las 11:04
. Years and years of pickpocketing, mind controlling and just generally being killed flat-out for the coppers in his pocket have worn thin on the poor guy's soul. Since Blizzard have removed class-specific quests, they've done the guy a favor and given him an upgrade of Saurfang proportions!
As I'm sure some of you may have seen, as of the latest Cataclysm Beta build
Gamon is now a level 85 elite and he hits like a truck
has just posted a hilarious video of his "world first" (not really) kill on Gamon. Despite such a major upgrade, this poor tauren still can't get a break. :(
Blizzard Offering 7 Free Days To Expired Accounts
13/11/2010 a las 17:40
In preparation for the Cataclysm, Blizzard has been sending out emails to owners of cancelled or expired accounts. They are
offering 7 days of World of Warcraft for free with reactivation of the account
, no credit card or payment method required! This is a good opportunity for players who may have been taking a break or stopped playing for any other reason to get back into the World of Warcraft and see what they've missed (before it all gets destroyed). The offer is valid until December 1st.
If you're planning on taking advantage of this offer, be sure that you check the sender and content of the email so you are not taken advantage of yourself! This email is confirmed to be sent from
with the subject "Name - Return to Azeroth with 7 Days of Game Time." The link provided in the email will take you to
- DO NOT enter your details anywhere other than a confirmed World of Warcraft / Battle.net URL! Get back into the World of Warcraft and see what you've missed! :)

I don't know about the rest of you, but my hat is off to this guy. He's come the closest I've seen to beating the World of Warcraft.
