I can't exactly say I'm surprised this would happen...Considering I've had little effect on a personal level I can't say I can give much of an opinion besides "they probably deserved it," however cynical it may sound =(
Strange how it always happens in the first week or so content being released; you'd think they would figure it out by now not to do that.
break the rules, face the consequences.
Well deserved bans. Should have been longer if anything.
Oh well, now they know not to exploit loopholes.
You exploit to get ahead in the game is a form of cheating. People who did it should get banned. You would think the top guilds would know better than to take part in this. Hasnt past exploits taught these guilds lessons?.
Perfectly deserved, good work Blizzard for upholding fair play.
Well deserved bans. They deserve no sympathy.People who whine "but it's BLIZZARD'S FAULT because they were TOLD about the bug, WAH WAH WAH".... no. Abusing a bug for personal gain, no matter how many times it was reported, is still exploiting. The end.
When heroic first kills mean a lot to those hardcore raiders, they will do anything to get an edge. I think it's justified for the temp ban so that next time they'll think twice before exploiting even if it's unintentional, they still should report it.
They 100% deserved it, they knowingly took advantage of a bug to exploit gear to gear up faster. The whole, everyone else is doing it, is a !@#$ty excuse.
It may be somewhat deserved, but many world firsts are products of exploitation. Class stacking and other bugs that aren't fixed until the content has been gone at by raiders. Blizzard does alot of inhouse testing, but world first guilds and players in general will do whatever they can to get the content cleared. I can see why Blizzard banned them, but they should also make sure all their systems work and this can't happen.
Well deserved bans. It isn't like they didn't know this was against the rules... They knew it and they did it anyway. Even still, "ignorance of the law is no excuse" so I imagine that applies to this too.
Since no one else has said it, I will:BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
As one guy said, each person who used this exploit should have an unchangeable title 'the Cheater' taped onto their name for a lengthy time to let everyone know these people did this and see how respect gets changed and what not.The other thing, apparently this exploit was in the PTR as well, and not reported at all, which is on every testers fault and Blizz themselves.
now that idea i like
Definitely deserved. As the blues said in their post, people should really know better. Top guilds or not, the rules apply to you just as much as they apply to someone else. Find a bug? Report it, and move on. Don't exploit it. I really hope they learn this time, though I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before something similar happens again. Someone always has to go for that one extra cookie in the jar.
