I don't want to turn this in an OS debate, so I apologize if my post sparked something like this. Just thought it was in the subject to let people know that I use Linux and I like it.
Personally, I can't stand firefox. I use Greenbrowser when I'm not using ie which is most of the time. Main advantage and reason I use it is due to playing a browser based game before playing wow, green is the equivalent of multi-boxing software on that type of game allowing you to play multiple characters.
It disappoints me so many people depend on NoScript and AdBlock. So many websites depend on these advertisements as their only source of income. I clicked on an ad in Wowhead today because I was interested in the product it was advertising. Now I am considering a new keyboard. =D. I am deeply disappointed in the several security flaws Microsoft is stepping in. I wish they'd stop pushing their IE 8 and fix their current browsers first. A large majority of the browser market is Internet Explorer, sadly, it has many exploits.
It's not just IE. It's java script and flash as well which allow injections by ads, the last round of keyloggers(not this one) was due to a bug in java script; the one before that was flash. Tough for the websites that rely on them, but the second that any advertisement has the possibility of being a source of infection regardless of it being legitimate, that means it can't be trusted. That means you either remove the ability for remote injections, or you leave the ability for sandbox code execution but block the primary sources of infection(usually advertisements), simply because advertisers are so poor at doing proper research into remote code execution, there have been several cases of injection via tampered webpages however.
Or you could just start using firefox. You won't regret it. I never have.
If I may, I may recommend hooking yourself up withMozilaa Firefox.it is a much faster, more reliable browser. :))
Like the majority of the posts, I use Firefox too, switched from IE a few years ago, a few days after Firefox was released cause of my neighbor who recommended me, fell in love and haven't looked back since.I had to use IE a few times after (cause FF wasn't entierly supported and well.. still isn't 100% compatible) and it felt weird, like meeting an ex that you dumped and feel sort of bad for. Also NoScript and Ad-block simply are too good to give up.The Love story of a browser /end geekness.
Just came across this postFirefox aint never getting installed on my system. Im using IE 8 Beta and havent had any probs. Its also not affected according to MS Technet.
