When i completed this quest it counted for 7 quests towards the "complete 2000 quests" achievement.

I have noticed that when you are trying to level fishing, if you are under 350 and fishing Northrend, you get leveled about 1 in 8 cast. However, when I was doing Nat Pagle's quest, I was leveling in 1 in 4 casts.

Players who had already completed the quest of the same name (to become Artisan Fishermen in the past) can get this new fishing-rod-reward by visiting Nat Pagle and doing this version of the quest, so they are not asked to fish the four fish a second time. This is the intent of this quest in contrast to the other.

Exactly, you can't get *this* quest on this page - the one without level requirement - as a first, as the requirement is that you did the old original version of it before (it was then a required quest for getting Artisan rank), and the "quest" here is simply that he gives you the pole.

Here's the "other", the now original Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme - required level: 34.

Level 41 with Fishing at Artisan 232/300 and when I got to Nat he is requiring that I go fish the 4 from all over the world in order to get his fishing pole. This is my first time on this character so Blizz hasn't changed this requirement much since the Vanilla days.

A handy fishing pole until you get Caña de pescar de hueso from a Bolsa de cosas brillantes a similar bag.

This quest line does not seem to have an effect on the later Rep/Friendship of Nat Pagle

If you are a quest completionist (like me), you can do this quest even if you have completed the newer version of Nat Pagle, pescador extremo. You just need to destroy the Caña de pescar de la suerte de Nat you got for the previous quest. Although Nat Pagle will not have an exclamation mark at that point, you will be able to speak to him and then immidiately complete this quest.

Edit: It no longer has to be destroyed as you can sell it for one copper now.

As of BfA 8.1 it is quite easy to get this fishing rod. I did not have one, other than the one you can purchase from the fishing trainer. There are plenty of new rods out there, but many take a lot of time to build up rep in order to get it. This was very easy. I should mention my toon is a Horde. All fishing locations are marked on your world map. From Nat, fly to Brackenwall Village in Dustwallow Marsh or similar. Took FP to Feralas, just north of the Ruins of Isildien. Then to Desolace, FP Shadowpray Village, or similar. FP to Ratchet, or if you want to wait for the Zepplin fly to Orgrimmar. Either way get to Booty Bay or close to it, to get to the other continent. Fly to Swamp of Sorrows, Bogpaddle, (North East corner) or any FP you have close to the Eastern shore. Fly back to Grom'Gol base Camp, fished at the door of the camp. Fly to Booty Bay, boat to Ratchet and FP back to Dustwallow Marsh, Brackenwall Village. Fly to Nat to turn in the quest. Took me less than 30 minutes, having all the flight paths. It took me no more than 5 casts to get the required quest item in each location, No need to fish in pools, just make sure you are in the marked area on your map. Now I need a fishing hat!
