Gorefiend, it's 60. Tooltip error. Overwhelming Power is what I should have linked (and what I am about to link right now). I specifically bolded the "60 seconds" part, to say "I know it says 30, but it's 60!" :DFixing spelling again...
Heh, we call those runes "pokeballs" too.The hard mode instructions are gonna be so helpful... we have been thinking about the hard mode for a while now.A death knight off tank would be pretty good for the hard mode... since he doesnt need anything hitting him to build threat.
I've seen the unsuccessfull fight of my boyfriend's guild, soooo many times, that I 've learned the tactics. So many times.....Edit:Where's my signature?O_o
On 10-Man, you can kill it before the 2nd tank dies with moderate DPS (or before the first with 25-man gear), but on 25-Man you're going to need up to 4 tanks if you push it to the end of healability. Usually the 4th tank is the first one bressed/soulstoned.Another major part of the Steelbreaker strategy I've seen a lot of people use is stacking up on him except for a few ranged, limiting the randomness of Static Disruption to just them (Hunters and Warlocks make excellent choices). The minimum number is 3 afaik, but we use a group of 5.-Excelion
Hmm...I didn't know the 25-man version of Overwhelming Power lasts only 30 seconds. That makes things interesting... but it makes sense, I guess. I will make adjustments to both the blog and the actual boss pages.
He isn't tauntable on normal ? I'll have to ask our tanks because i'm sure i asked them to taunt at the end of Meltdown and they never complained about something being wrong (though we haven't had to use more than two tanks and they could simply have been building their agro correctly).
He's tauntable on Normal, but dunno about Heroic, as we haven't done hardmode there yet.On our first kill, we "wiped" due to the second tank blowing up after the kill. We were too busy congratulating ourselves.
He's tauntable on heroic too. I don't know why there's confusion about this?Anyway, very nice overview! When my guild does 25-man hardmode, we go through 3 tanks. The first tank gets a soulstone and resses. We found that it's a big strain on healers to do 4 tank rotations. His damage buffs from player deaths affects all of his damage, inlcuding his aoe, meaning that the raid damage increases alot every 30 seconds. And after a while he starts oneshotting tanks if they don't use cooldowns. We also use 3 Static Disruption soakers (spriests or locks for their passive damage reduction). 2 on normal. They stand away from the raid and each other and have a dedicated healer in P3. Towards the end of the fight (after 2+ tank deaths) they start taking huge damage. The rest of the raid stands in his melee range where Steelbreaker won't target them for Static Disruption (hunters can DPS fine there).
Some little things you may want to add...Stormcaller is stunnable and silenceable, and many of his skills are interuptable. However, something that only silences, but doesnt interupt, wont stop Lightning Whirl from finishing (Gag Order on a Warrior's Heroic Throw wont work). I think he MAY be immune to stuns during Lightning Whirl as well. Also, in the third phase be becomes immune to Stun. Only silence and interupts to keep him in line.In third phase, during Lightning Lightning Tendrils, Stormcaller will actually follow his highest threat target first of all. However, after that its totally random, and he gets no threat from anything you try.It is possible for a Tank to take both Runemaster and Stomrcaller at the same time while everyone else deals with Steelbreaker. They dont hit for too much even combined (still, get them out of runes), and as long as your hitting Runemaster a bit (and dispelling his shields) he wont forget to attack you. As a warrior tank I just focus on Stormcaller, stunning/silencing/interupting him where possible and spamming Cleave, untill overload, then run outside his Overload range, charge back in. If you run away sidewards, Runemaster still seems to hit your shield.I dont know why, but when third phase comes along and your doing Stormcaller last, It feels like everything gets faster. Maybe im just focusing too hard at that point, and fail to realise its just a Haste buff, But it does feel like everything just moves along faster....
