Name:
High Overlord Saurfang
Race:
God
Orc
Gender:
Man. No, not male. He's a man's man.
What did he do?
He lead the Might of Kalimdor in addition to giving Garrosh a sound tongue-lashing (and promising to kill him if he lead the orcs back down the dark path they just recently escaped). Later his son fought and died at the Wrathgate, and Saurfang showed up at the Battle of Undercity to offer guidance to Thrall.
Where should he reappear?
Anywhere, I don't care. The more I see him the happier I am. Hopefully, he'll make good on his promise to bust Garrosh's skull in, and maybe even lay down the law for a few other troublemakers.
("Why hello there, Sky-Reaver Korm Blackscar... I'm here to show you what it
really
means to be Horde.")

I actually intended to make a blog about this... But nice to see I can steal your ideas!

Name:
Sergeant (Real Name Unknown)
Race:
Human
Gender:
Male
What did he do?
Sergeant was the trainer that Thrall had as a boy. This man made sure he knew everything there was to learn about physical combat. When Thrall freed himself, led the Orcs from their internment and subsequently returned to Durnholde Keep. Sergeant was the person who stepped up to command the defense of the Keep. Though he was defeated, Thrall allowed Sergeant and his loyal men to leave Durnholde as a "thank you" of sorts for having been so kind to him when he was young.
Where should he reappear?
After Sergeant left Durnholde, his fate is unknown. He may have fought against the Scourge in the Third War, he may not have. I would like to see him return with the Cataclysm. Ideally, as a commander or general, something akin to the Alliance version of Saurfang.

Perhaps with Thrall as a major hero for both factions, he could play Eitrigg to Thrall's Tirion (as in the way they worked in WotLK, with Eitrigg becoming a leader of the Argent offensive.)

You know, I'm really surprised you didn't put up the Sergeant idea first, Skree. But I could see the whole Eitrigg/Tirion = Sergeant/Thrall scenario. That would be cool.

Sargeant is a good choice for a return, maybe even have them try to reclaim durnhold as Alliance loses so much of Hillsbrad.

You know, if Danath were to return to reclaim Stromgarde, I could see Sergeant being one of his Lieutenants in the endeavor. Not sure exactly how they might meet, but I could see it.

Having good people that I've done nothing wrong to be willing to stop at nothing to kill me and my fictional family is rather depressing. :(

Name:
Meryl Winterstorm
Race:
Human Undead
Gender:
Male
What did he do?
Fought in the Troll war's 3 thousand years ago, was fatalily injured during those battles and has been using his magic to keep himself alive ever since. Meryl was one of the founding members of the Council of Trisfal, and one of the first to realize that allowing the chosen "Guardian" to channel the energies of the Council was far safer and more straight forward then all 6 members attacking the problem at the same time, where it would be possible to split them up and take them out one by one.
Was a friend of Agewynn during her time as a Guardian, but was unable to stop the headstrong young woman when she kept the council's powers and used them to keep herself alive for 800 years, to prove that the Guardian didn't need a council to oversee them. Meryl was one of the few to survive when Medivh/Sargeras purged the Council after awakening from his coma.
Where should he reappear?
Hopefully for some tie in to the new Guardian for Cataclysm, be it Thrall, Med'an or another, and assist the current
New Council
with his thousand of years of experience. Should also have some new connection to the upcoming mage classes, be they orc night elf or what have you.
((yes I know he's a comic creation, but he was well used in Legends Vol 5, which showed the founding of the Council of Trisfal.))

Eeew. Comics.
Name:
Rexxar
Race:
Half-Orc, Half-Ogre.
Gender:
Male.
What did he do?
He helped Thrall and Jaina while Durotar was in its infancy, earnt the title
Champion of the Horde
and killed Daelin Proudmoore before he wiped out the Orcs. He helped beat back Daelin's fleet too. Meh, you all know about his
Lore.
Where should he reappear?
Despite being seen in Blade's Edge - he is playing happy families with the Mok'Nathol while the Horde's political situation deteriorates.
I would like to see him reappear in Cataclysm to put Garrosh in his place or do something worthy of his title.

this guy
random orc of Shadowprey village heh. But yeah I would like to see Rexxar make a comeback.

What did he do?
He aided Rexxar and Rokhan in their journeys during the Founding of Durotar, and is one of the world's most renowned Brewmasters.
Where should he reappear?
Preferably anywhere, but in fitting into the expansions, something dealing with the Great Sea would be his likely place of appearance. I really hope that Blizzard doesn't just continue making the Pandaren a little joke for the fans.

Name:
Jarod Shadowsong
Race:
Night Elf
Gender:
Male
What did he do?
Jared was responsible for holding together the Night Elven host after the death of Kur'Talos Ravencrest. Under his lead, he convinced the nobles to really join forces with the other races, and, with an increasingly showing skill in tactics and leadership, he ultimately was responsible for the
entire survival of Azeroth
, holding back the forces of the Legion of the Lower Planes until their portal was destroyed. After the War of the Ancients, Jared, who now had all the faith of his people trusted in him, played a crucial part in re-establishing the Night Elve's society at Mount Hyjal. He was there during the trial of Illidan, and the birth of the first World Tree, Nordrassil. After that, he vanished, without telling anyone where he was going, or how long he'd be gone. He hasn't been seen (or mentioned, really) until today.
Where should he reappear?
I really hope he reappears during the Maelstrom expansion, becoming something along the lines of
Jarod Shadowsong, High General of the Night Elves
.
