Aprendiz ingeniero 1- 60

Para aprender Ingeniería necesitaremos visitar a alguno de los instructores que encontraremos en alguna de las ciudades principales de Azeroth. Si no terminas de ubicarte, es mejor que le preguntes a un guardia.

Es totalmente recomendable comprar una Navaja gnómica en la Casa de Subastas ya que reemplaza varias herramientas que nos harán falta mientras subimos. Si no puedes comprar una, tendrás que fabricar estas herramientas mientras subes de nivel Ingeniería y hacerte, además, con un Martillo de herrero.

Es recomendable ir guardando las cosas que vayamos fabricando como Tornillos ya que los iremos usando en las recetas mientras subimos de nivel.

para todos aquellos en WOD los maestros de profesión no están ofreciendo la actualización para la profesión en el rango de 600 a 700 y para poder obtener la actualización debemos obtener el objeto Transpondedor de ubicación gnómico, este objeto nos permite aumentar nuestro rango de profesión de 600 a 700 para los ingenieros y se obtiene de loot de NPC Karnoth que sólo aparecen durante la realización de la misión Las sombras se despiertan que es parte de una línea que inicia con La bienvenida de un héroe

Engineering... the most 'lulz' profession in WoW.

There are 2 different specalizations: Goblin Eng. and Gnome Eng. You can change at will with the Book "Soothsaying for Dummies" found in Tanaris.

There are many perks in engineering, mini (BoE) pets, Wormhole Generator (free northrend port), and ammo for guns/bows are just a few of them.

If you are looking for an easy way to make gold, then engineering isn't for you. Levelling engineering from 1-450 can cost thousands of gold, and it will take a very long time to earn that gold back when you do get to max level.

But, if you have gold pouring out of your pockets, and are looking to have fun, you should DEFINITELY choose engineering! It has very fun items like Rocket boots, Parachute cloak, and, to top it off, a bank and reagent vendor every hour!

All in all, engineering + want for gold = bad!

Engineering + want of fun = good!

Engineers can make money. We have a mount we can sell, a few companion pets, some mats that other classes need, we can farm our own motes, make and sell end game arrows and bullets, and the list can go on. Just need to find your niche in the market.

Engineering is the 'fun' profession in the game. It offers several marked benefits (Significant haste, free slow fall, FREAKING WRIST-ROCKETS, etc), two Engineer-only mounts, a craftable motorcycle, a portable mailbox, portals across Northrend and the old world, snowball machines, rocket guns, and a myriad of other fun-stuffs (grenades, anyone?).

The problem with this is money: You need it. A lot of it. Leveling Engineering could be compared to being stabbed in the neck with a solid gold knife: It sucks, but everyone will know "Hey, this guy is worth something!". Engineering has a relatively small niche in the market. Most Engineer items are Bind on Pickup or require engineering to do, save for some vanity pets and ammunition.

Engineering is not a profession that you will want to start out with on your character. Better to level an 80 with a money-making skill before sojourning into the world of Engineering.

:) Have fun with it when you do, because it is the bomb.

Arguably the best profession to combine with Engineering is Mining. Engineering requires a LOT of ore, many gems, rocks, etc., that mining can all provide. Occasionally you may end up needing ingredients from other sources, but for the most part, mining is most complementary.

I have a question. I was wondering how I de-engineer something. I am a 450 eng. But am only lvl 69. I know it doesn't matter until I get to level 80 but I would like to know if I have missed something. I have got no spells for eng in my book except for eng, and gnomish eng. Despite all the hubub about how costly this is, It never cost me thousands of gold as my engineer was also a miner. It's very easy to get a ton of ore around azeroth, outland, northrend make parts until you are max. most of the time those parts can be used to make smaller items in between the parts to compensate for any holes in the point gaining. I've been playing since launch but only started engineering two years into the game. Leveled engineering two other times on two other types of characters the same way once on a caster and once on a pally tank. Both times it was just as easy. Be sure and gather as much ore as possible. Iron, mithril, and thorium are needed the most in order to get to the 300 mark. Even though it didn't cost me a dime...err a silver to completely level these, it is NOT a moneymaker however it does help with buffs that mimic enchantments and tinkering that mimic certain "on use" trinkets for an extra boost to casting, tanking, or hunter dps.

Engineers get a variety of new toys in Cataclysm including:

Cogwheel and Hydraulic pumps ("super" red/red/blue gems that give ~3x the stats of endgame gems (think dragon's eyes))
New Scopes
New craft-able epic ranged weapons such as guns, and finally, bows/crossbows!
Various new tinkers including a priest-type bubble, Increased effects of potions (like the alchemist trinkets), and a cloning devise! (Mirror Image)
New non-combat pets
Small combat pets
A feast cooking-type barbecue that feeds your raid

Engineering tinkers, as of patch 4.0.1, currently stack with enchants on the same item slot (eg hyperspeed acelerators with +28 spellpower on glove enchant, nitro boosts with feet enchants) making the profession really good in its current state.

There aren't cloth specialization bonuses, because they can only wear cloth. They're simply passive.

Here's what's bugging me, maybe someone from the Cata beta can explain. How in the name of hell are we expected to skill this now? Looking at the skill gain levels, there is a gap from 475 to 490, with no item I can tell being able to fill the gap. Sorta pointless to have some awesome goggles to aim for, when it looks currently impossible to even reach that point.

is engineering mainly used for casting classes? i'm a lvl 288 hunter goblin engineer, and feeling pretty left out when it comes to goggles and stuff. very little things buff agility i notice. should i bother with engineering with my hunter, or get it on my priest i'm starting?

also, even if you have mining, is engineering really that expensive out of pocket? i'm using engineering on my first character, and the price out of pocket doesn't seem that bad. i love having the fun, but worry about being constantly broke, especially since engineering seems geared toward casters and not my hunter.

Good news, everyone. As of the last hotfix, you can now keep learning new tinkers at max Engineering:

All eight of the Engineering discoveries are now able to be learned through crafting the Overpowered Chicken Splitter at max-level Engineering.

I am curious about levelling engineering. I currently am 525/525 Blacksmithing and Mining. Character is a paladin that is primarily retribution spec now, but I began as a tank and still tank often doing random heroics for a faster que time.
1. Does anyone else have exp with that combination on a pally? If so, how was your experience?
2. Has anyone seen a list compiled of the total items needed to level up? I'm currently stocking up on ore / mats before I drop mining.
3. I haven't seen the changes coming up in the next patch, is it being nerfed?
4. Is it still a terrible money maker, as previous posters have stated.

Answers to these questions and any other comments would be greatly appreciated!

As many beore me have said, this is a money wasting prof. Although, it has alot of down sides, it's a very rewarding prof. I dropped this after I got all the mounts and made all my money back. The Chopper's still sell for alot even though cata is out now.
Time, money, and alot of hardwork, you could easily master the art of it.
I recommend being a Gnome for this. (Boost in the prof.) Particularry a caster for the increased mana pool Gnome's have.
Check other proffessions for my suggestions on who should have which.

As much as everyone seemed geared for engineering to be amazing alot of stuff got cut before being released.... Like the amazing epic bows and guns we could make... we cant make anything epic aside from our goggles. And the ability to itemized our trinkets... gone like the wind.... Wether these will be implemented is to be seen. Not to mention ive yet to see a single engineering mob in the game... Remember in wrath when they implemented the skinning into us looking for scrap parts to use, Not a single Mob in This expansion has been "skinnable" this expansion except for oldworld mobs. That seemed wasted.

While i know this is a gimmick profession. Thats suppose to be fun? It wasnt fun at all No fun gimmick items other then a new pet ? and some goggles to look more attractive. Im sorry no amount of shiny goggles will make my undead attractive. :P other then that a barbeque that has a use and a cardboard assassin that seems to fail at its job.. Need a name change to Cardboard meatshield. err ...<.<. Anyways i cant speak how viable this post will be in future patches but so far engineering got the shaft.

The goggles are nice, But unless the cogs or goggles scale... with patches.. they will be long forgotten about and render the profession less than a gimmick.

Engineering is really not much fore plate wearers, is it? I know there are holy paladin items in there, but for everybody else, at least 85, it's pretty useless, isn't it? That's to say Retarding, Protection Paladin, Warriors, DKs.

even though we (eng) didnt get a ton of new toys in cata the bio-optic killshades are pretty high end for this tier of content (4.0.6), and the cogwheel "gems" are just awesome! that alone makes it worth sticking with for me, also we have the new anti gravity thing ( which is sadly still broken i do believe)

Engineering is, by far, the best profession for any kind of competitive play (PvP, PvE) and has the most tools for your average player. This is offset by the fact that you can't make almost *any* money with it. Aside from the bow & gun (which are incredibly expensive), any items you craft that can be sold to other players are the items that are used for leveling engineering, so it's basically impossible to profit off of those items because there's usually an abundance of them on the auction house. The Gnomish X-Ray Scope, for example, sold for 10 gold on Kil'Jaeden last time I checked.

That said, there's nothing wrong with taking engineering on every one of your characters. The Synapse Springs are an amazing DPS perk, and the tank version is equally good. The goggles are pre-heroic BiS for every class, as you can choose which 2 stats you would like to put in there thanks to cogwheels. With patch 4.0.6, resilience cogwheels were added, so you can even make a 2nd pair for PvP (you lose some resilience compared to the 365 PvP helm, but I know for example rogues' and hunters' mastery is garbage, so by using goggles with resilience + crit cogwheels you actually gain a significant amount of DPS by using them). As far as utility goes, you can get one of the many, many belt enchants and a parachute on your cloak. There's endless little trinkets and random gadgets that can do basically anything, too. Then there's the grenades, which can boost your DPS and incapacitate targets for 5 seconds or even freeze them in place (which counts for shatter for all you mages).

And there's a hell of a lot more useful things than the ones I linked. At the end of the day, you can't go wrong if you take engineering on every single character you have. Get a different profession to make money.

It definitely is the best because the synapse springs are the biggest DPS increase of any profession. The only exception might be for healers, who might want JC + Blacksmithing to get extra resilience instead of an on-use intellect proc.

I have various toons with level 525 tailor, leatherworker as well as blacksmithing. So I was wondering why those professions are able to craft ilvl 359 gear where as the engineering profession is only able to make ilvl 346? We all use chaos orbs, so what gives?

Who else is scratching their heads when they realize the two top weapons we can craft require an orb but are only i346? Are our skills going to be as obsolete as they were when raiding started in LK? Maybe moreso, now that ammo is no longer needed? Right now my engineers are nothing more than walking sources of Jeeves/repair bots. I feel like a mage.

I chose gnome engineering, but quickly wanted to switch over to goblin. I unlearned my gnome with the book, but now i cannot for the life of me find a quest to start up goblin. I have been to every trainer that wowhead says can start the quest, but none of them have it. any advice?

I'm surprised more people aren't mentioning the portals. If you're not a mage, engineering's 3 portals are how you don't wait to farm(barring getting turned into a chicken). When you meet a mage somewhere, and it takes you 20min in flying and it took them 3sec... portals become the reason engineering rocks.

I spent several hundred gold on this, but I could have avoided completely it by using my other professions (JC'ing/Mining being the big ones). In this case Money or Time = Skill. You will not find much profit from this profession, but the multitude of very amazing toys makes up for it.

Outlands is by far the worst in my opinion for leveling the profession. Classic and Northrend are amazingly easy now.

Why has it not been said that this is nearly perfect for hunters. Being able to make some of the best guns for leveling, and being able to make the only enchants for ranged weapons, as well as ammo back in the good ol' days. along with all of the awesomeness that comes with everything, makes it perfect for hunters.

"Explosive Decoy" doesn't turn green until 390, not 385 as listed in the chart (as of now) -- making that the least painful way to level from 385 to 390 by a longshot.

For those of you who want to level engineering fast, and have the money to do so, look up the cataclysm engineering guide on a nifty site called WoW-professions (no, this is not advertisement).

It provides a detailed step-by-step guide into leveling your engineering the whole way! I used it and it only took me a couple days (mainly because I couldn't find any Fel Iron Ore/Bar on the AH cuz my server fails. even then, Fel Iron is difficult to come by because no one really needs it anyways, and hence the price has skyrocketed).

It should really take a few hours of dedication to stroll from 1-525. I invested close to 10000g in total speed leveling this, and I must say it's worth it. Be sure to stop by Tanaris and pick up Goblin Engineering, or Gnome Engineering (not sure where to get it, didn't care for it) and the Destruyemundos personals get you quiet a few gold on the AH!

Ah, engineering! The profession for making some of the most useless items in the game. I say useless because the materials needed to make a lot of items in order to level up engineering make it almost impossible to keep engineering on par with your character's level ie craft items useable against MOBs and enemy players around your level. So you craft it then don't need it, can't sell it on AH because nobody can use it and other engineers rarely need most of what other engineers create unless it's a part for making something else. You can only sell it to a vendor for far less than the time and money you spent in making it.

You definitely need a guild or a higher level character with access to gold and mats to do so. Otherwise you're just making a lot stuff you don't need and nobody else can use just to level up your engineering and some of the schematics require ridiculous amounts of different mats requiring several professions and drops. This means a lot of money spent at the AH and a lot of time spent farming for mats and gold which to do either will push your character's exp past the point of needing the item.

There are also sizable gaps between schematics you can learn from a trainer sometimes 15-20 points from one skill to the next; plus there is the beauty of finally learning something and it's a yellow or green level from the getgo so you can't level pretty far with it. Then there are those schematics that being able to learn them or make them are completely out of your level ability.

My favorite is the Esquema: dragonizo de arcanita which requires level 50 and Engineering 300 but to get the schematics you need Generador de agujeros de gusano: Rasganorte which requires 415 Engineering and thus level 65 to do when the item is of little use to you for PVE, PVP, or leveling up your engineering! Of course you could buy it on the AH for several hundred gold if you can spare it which seems the only reason to get it - to make some money from this practically profitless profession. And from what I understand this item got nerfed so it doesn't level with you and so its only useful to you for a short span of time. Not really worth all the effort to make unless you are someone with access to gobs of cash and mats.

My blacksmith can craft 359 items with recipes bought right off the vendors. My tailor the same. My engineer sits with 15 chaos orbs and not to do with them. You do get a 359 head piece that noone else gets, similar to alchemy making a 359 trinket, but you cannot sell anything. There is a 365 gun recipe which requires grinding Hyjal for weeks to get. My hunter has landed the 378 crossbow doing much fewer runs in FL than it would take my engineer to get the marks of the world tree to make an inferior 365 weapon. Engineers should be able to make BOE 359 trinkets or helmets with recipes right off the vendors to balance them with tailoring, blacksmithing, leatherworking.

Blizz seems afraid of this profession so they water it down with lackluster performance or worse with a high probability of failure which damages the user. Then they nerf items of the functions they were designed for: Bomba de saronita and Carga de zapador termoglobal are both designed to create siege damage but in WinterGrasp a completely siege environment, neither of these bombs will work! Blizz nerfed their use there because they didn't want people/engineers taking advantage of these items ie using them as they were intended!

shame really i thought this was the case its just annoying blizz should really make this option available we have Goblin and Gnome on both sides even if its in a quest chain at the steamweedle cartel maybe from starting at Ratchett going to Bootybay to learn the 1 type after an engineering skill lvl Booty bay to Gadgetzan then to Everlook finally we should learn how to do both at somewhere like Area 52 also require a 350 engineering skill this would be a good and it would also this would would also put the lvl cap to 60 for both types of engineering which was the orignal lvl cap ingame

People have commented on the expenses of engineering. They aren't lying. If you don't mine, you spend a lot of gold buying things from miners. If you do mine, you use up all your stock, so you are not making gold from selling the stuff. Either way, Engineering is more a labor of love and a great source of entertainment. If you are a PvP player, this profession offers you some surprises for the other players. Low level players out questing will love target dummies. They do work. Bombs are just fun. I had a low level 'toon (now gone) who made a bunch of bombs and I spent a half hour laughing and throwing bombs at level 1 mobs in Durotar.

If you are a new player and only have one or two characters, I would not recommend it. New players would be better served as gatherers, so they can make gold and level faster via the exp points from herbalism. Plus, gatherers can find crafters, getting the items they want by providing the materials and tipping the crafter well.

If you are not a new player and have a guild and/or alts, make sure you have some miners supporting you at low levels (all that rock and stone is near-worthless on the AH, but great for leveling you through low level engineering). At max level, it's a good idea to have an alchemist to do transmutes.

My main's the third character I created. She's a warlock engineer. These are the things that have been very useful:

Transport devices. I can get to Winterspring and Area 52. Kinda like being a poor man's mage.
Parachute on cloak. Get knocked in the air? Get a soft landing.
Bombs. Depending on how the current release has nerfed 'locks and my level of inattention at 2AM, bombs are great for when I run out of mana and am low on health. Heck. Bombs are fun. Period.
Jeeves. OMFG. I love Jeeves. I don't raid a lot, but people love me when we've wiped a few times and need repairs.
Moll-E: Bags full? No problem. Ship it to an alt in the middle of the Uldum desert.
Headgear: As a low level gnome, she was a little killer with her OP headgear.
Weird Trinkets: Mechanical dragonlings, etc. They only are good for a couple of levels, but they're fun. So there.
General funtimes: The animations on some of these things is vastly entertaining. I love the goblin barbeque and squander them all the time in guild runs just because they're fun. Other animations while making stuff are cool (Electirifed ether sometimes knocks my 'lock on her butt.) Engineering puts the "fun" part in the concept of "game" Transporter accidents. 'nuff said.

Now, on to making money. You can make money. If you have a low level JC alt, you can make delicate copper wire. An engineer can make fused wiring. This actually sells well on the AH. Pets make money, too. If you are totally OCD, you can collect materials to make the motorcycles. I rarely see them on the AH and they tend to go for the low five figures. There are also items that are enhancements. I don't really pay attention to all my schematics, but last night, someone asked for an engineer in trade chat. I linked my list and wound up getting a nice tip and a /hug for making Flintlocke's Woodchucker. I suspect high level engineers are a little rare, so if you are inclined to spam trade chat with your wares, you may get tips. (I tend not to do that, because I'm constantly rep grinding.)

Hope this helps if you are mulling over Engineering as a choice. Of course, your mileage may vary.

After MoP came out, we now have goblin gliders, which are utterly amazing in BGs, especially Netherstorm, AB, and AV. You cannot fly, but you can glide for a long distance. Also, there are goggles that are supposed to increase the drop rate on gatherables while mining and herbing. It may have been nerfed, but initially, it was a substantial increase in nodes.

The Pandaria expansion's been good to engineers. For a while the trinkets were a good source of income. Now, with the Timeless Isle gear, not so much. However, The mount and pets are selling on the auction house. All the popular kids ride around on golems now.

Now there is an item that can be bought from vendors, called tinker's kit, it's to buff your gear, worked much like blacksmithing socketing, and can be overwritten like any enchanting, it gives skill ups, basically means 1-2g for skill up, i used this to skip creating many junk from BC and WotlK recipes.

With the release of Timeless Isle, my cash flow has decreased significantly. I'm pretty sure it's because Timeless isle is such a huge time sink and people are grinding out tokens rather than leveling alts now, hopefully this will increase as people go back to working on alts, but timeless trinket tokens, while not useful for leveling, may be having people skip out on spending money on dragonlings while they push for 90.

Currently I'm making between 7k and 10k a week on the AH as an Engineer/Miner and I don't sell anything I mine.
Read below and I'll explain how and why... I'm probably going to regret posting this as people are sure to move in on my market now.

In MoP, for engineers, the Dragonizo de hierro fantasma and it's Gears have finally made us a viable money making profession. The problem is it only makes it viable for 1-2 engineers per faction per server (At least via the AH).

Why people need them:
This trinket is usable at level 87, and with the +600 to 3 secondary stats makes it pretty much THE best trinket until you get into the ilvl 500+ epics. It's useful to every player in the game and binds on equip, meaning every alt needs one of their own, and the gears to go with it. Stealthers however need not apply due to the dragonling proc.

The problem with selling them:
As was leveling I knew about these but couldn't make them yet so I was constantly looking on the AH to get one and gears for it. What I found was that most of the time these were NEVER on the AH in my server. When they were on the AH there were either no gears, or gears that were useless to me. The point being. If the gears people need aren't available they will NOT drop the 200-500 gold these things sell for. Who wants a trinket that just procs a dragonling?

Solution and path to massive money:
If you want to sell Dragonizo de hierro fantasmas then you need to put up the gears as well, ALL the gears. If you put up 1 dragonling you need 1 of each of the 8 gears that can be slotted into it. This way people always see the gears they need. Best results come from having a large, constant supply. Anytime something sells, after you get your money from the mailbox the first thing you should do is replace it on the AH.

It takes 30 Barra de hierro fantasma and 12 Paño de lanaviento to make a full "set" of dragonling and gears. As a miner the hardest part for me is maintaining enough windwool to keep up with the demand. I've even had to resort to buying stacks of windwool with Espíritu de armonía from Danky(Krystel for Alliance).

As of right now, anytime you go on the AH for my server, you'll find my auctions.

I started out just doing 2 Dragonizo de hierro fantasma, but would often log in to find they had all sold overnight, so I increased to 4. This worked well, but Tuesdays would often clean me out again (raid resets), so I upped it to 6, from here I've always had at least one still on the AH after I logged in.

Some days you won't sell anything at all. Some days you'll come in to 30+ mails full of gold.

I set a "decent" price and leave it. I don't worry about being undercut because as of yet I have no real competition. Most of the time my auctions are the only ones on the AH, at times someone under cuts me, but it's usually only 1-2 dragonlings and no gears, or a couple random gears. In either case, I still make money selling gears to a person that bought the other guy's dragonling, or sell a dragonling and only 1 or 2 gears with it. Pricing and demands will vary by server/faction so react accordingly.

The most important part to this is to keep up with demand. You need to maintain enough gears for your dragonlings. And enough dragonlings that people won't not find them when they look. Alternately you can 'partner' with someone else. One of you making gears and the other makes the dragonlings.

I recommend 3 addons for maintaining your supply/auctions.

Advanced Tradeskill Window - This lets you queue up multiple items for creation, then you can click the "reagents" button to see exactly how many resources you need compared to what you have on you, in your bank, and on alts.
Carbonite - It's an all in one package map and tons of other things. The reason I recommend it is for it's "warehouse" function. It can add into the tooltip of an item exactly how many you have on you, alts, in your bank, in the guild bank, and on the auction house. This lets you know while you're at an anvil/forge exactly how many items you need to make by checking the tooltip in the profession window. Any addon that does the same will work fine if you don't want to get Carbonite.
Auctioneer - Can set-up batch posting of your gears and dragonlings making it easy to dump all you stuff back onto the auction house. It also tracks pricing, What sells and what doesn't, making it easier to adjust pricing to your server. Any Auction plugin that can do this will also be fine.

I like the perks of having engeneering as a proffesion on some of my characters, but I find it the hardest of the ones I've tried (haven't tried inscription yet) to level up, since you need to have mining to be able to craft most items without ruining your wallet on the auction house, plus you also need some cloth, plus leather.

Engineering is the most fun of all the primary professions to me. I love the perks of being able to build your own mounts. While other professions can make their own mounts they do not get to make a motorcycle.

It has been mentioned previously a while ago but to confirm, in order to swap between Gnomish < > Goblin specialisation you need to do the following:

1. First you need to Unlearn the existing specialisation in your Professions window (click the red Unlearn icon next to it which is in the upper right in the Engineering panel)
2. Visit one of the Engineering Trainers in the main cities who will now offer a quest to learn whichever one you prefer (not offered in Dalaran even with the two specialist Trainers)

most of the cool stuff is nerfed like reflectors (*when you used to reflect like mass amounts of mage spells on his own arse and had the mage sit in his own stun) or the rogue detector thing

I've just reached 585 Engineering, and I've spent thousands getting to this point in a few days.

I levelled Engineering back in Classic on my Rogue and found many toys so much fun.

So you can imagine my surprise when I finished levelling it, after a long WOW break, to find there's.. pretty much no great use for Engineering, no money-making capability, the bombs are nerfed vs HP these days and there's really not many new toys, if any. The mounts cost an absolute fortune to build, but fair enough people somehow manage it; I, working full time, will never.

I've just been left feeling like this profession could be really fun, even if they made it powerful in pve, outside of raids and instances; maybe a turret you can put down for farming, a helicopter that you can load up and send off and it posts your mail, a decent pet to fight for you? Maybe last one would be a bit OP.

What would you all like to see and do any of you agree with my perception of this seemingly mediocre profession?

Assuming this is correct, it is best if one were to start farming elementium ore now, before the inevitable farming post expansion happens to keep leveling engineers happy.

Been waiting a long time for a change like this to engineering.

This change should occur between pre-Warlords of Draenor patch 6.0, or as the expansion hits.

My guess? Since the expansion itself requires unlocking from Blizzard's personal servers, then this will be something that one can get after the expansion has launched.

I was honestly pretty disappointed with what Engineering became in MoP. Now it's like "Oh, you can craft a bunch of useless items (aside from maybe ONE useful item)! Hooray!" At least in Cata you could craft level 85 goggles. The ones you can craft in MoP are level 87. Not even 90. And tbh, the few new items that are actually useful have a limited amount of charges. So that's great. What ever happened to Engineering being both fun and useful?

The starting quest item for each crafting profession, skill 600-700, is dropped by Dorogg the Ruthless when doing the quest "The Butcher of Bladespire" at Bladespire Fortress.

In WoW professions we now buid items that can rival the raid drop items and are far better than the dungeon drop items. They start small and can be made bigger and bigger. They all are created with what is called a <Random Enchantment>. We even craft items to take another roll at the <Random Enchantment> on the gear. The random enchant includes 2 of the secondary stats (giving us a measurable chance or RNG). Items for the Back (cloak), neck, neck, finger(ring), weapon, and shield, have a greater number of possibilities than other armor items, because they can contain the secondary statistics of Bonus Armor and Spirit (fortunately they do not include the combination of both those statistics ;-).

All of the items have a name in the form of "<ItemName> of the <RandomEnchantComboName>". If you click on the <RandomEnchantComboName> link, it will take you to a chart with all the possible names and combinations. I wish I could add a picture here.

Examples:
"Escudo de acero forjado of the Guileful" would have Critical Strike and Bonus Armor as the <Random Enchant>
"Coraza de veracero of the Harmonious" would have Mastery and Versatitility as the <Random Enchant>

Most Armor Items:
As we see from this graph, the number of possible <Random Enchantments> for most armor items will be 10. So, you have a 1 in 10 (1/10 or 10%) possibility of getting just the mixture of statistics you want.

Cloaks, Necks, Rings, Shields, Weapons:
These items have an additional 2 statisctics added to the normal 4. The added statistics, as mentioned earlier, are Bonus Armor and Spirit (Tank and Healer statistics, respectively). Fortunately there is no combination of both Bonus Armor and Spirit (ever here of teats on a boar hog?)

Only weapon types intended for a healing class will have the possibility of Spirit, and only weapon types intended for a tanking class will have Bonus Armor. Weapons intended for both, will have the same chances as all the jewelry, cloaks, and shields. So if it can be enchanted (by enchanting) or is a shield, it fits in this class of item.

So your chances of getting the perfect necklace with just the right two secondary statistics is 1 in 20 (1/20 or 5%). I am not certain whether Bonus Armor and Spirit have the same chance of being included. If they are given a single chance and then chosen between the two, then your chance for an item with perfect statistics not including Bonus Armor or Spirit would be 1 in 15 (1/15 or 6.67%).

I would list here all the values associated with the <Random Enchantments>, however they vary depending on the slot and material. They also vary with the level of the individual wearing or looking at them.

There you have it. All the possible names and combinations. All items of the same level contain the same amount of statistic, such as "54 Critical Strike" and I have not seen a crafted item with a double a statistic (only one statistic but twice the value).

My biggest grudge with the new items is that before, I could simply tinker my gear and attach the speed boost on my beld and the goblin glider on my cloak.

NOW, I have to keep all the tinkers on my bags, I got used to use both the glider and the boost all the time, NOW I have to lose 5 slots of bag space if I wanna keep 100 gliders - YES, because they only stack to 20. Not to mention that the speed boost is completely GONE.

As of patch 6.0.3 you can now level 1-630 engineering really cheap using Mecha-Blast Rocket and Shieldtronic Shield.
You can learn these recipes from Recipe: Secrets of Draenor Engineering.
Though you'll need an Arclight Spanner which requires skill level 50 engineering to make.
It will take either 1650 x Blackrock Ore or True Iron Ore to reach skill level 600.

(From 600-630 you'll have to create more than 30 Shieldtronic Shield. They turn Yellow at 627 and green at 630.)

One phrase to describe Engineering in it's current form: "YOU CAN'T USE THAT HERE."

Engineering is more and more lackluster as this new expansion goes on. I seem to find myself be surprised at the limitations or limits on using my inventions than I am at the results.

We cant use most of them in combat, can't use them in a lot of specific areas. Too much restriction has this skill feeling extremely lacking and I REALLY hope Blizzard is aware of it and taking steps to fix it. I have been an engineer on my main since vanilla.

At this point the only real reason to take engineering is to get a glider. However if you get Avianas feather or a backpack you can get the same effect. I do still use rocket boots a lot and the shield barrier is nice for raiding. Those 2 things are the only bit that comes to mind as far as usefulness goes however.

Engineering is VERY UNDERWHELMING.

I leveled my engineer from level 30 to 90 with the one time buff blizz offered. Becaue of that i miss a lot of recipes that do not come from vendors and the like.
I am looking for those recipes that still have a function in WoD. I found the mounts oc but i mean more the utilities that are still usefull.

I would be grateful for helping me out here by linking the recipes that are still worth going for.

so guys i have a very simple question am orc warior and engineering with blacksmith or blacksmith with mining, am asking cause i read a guide and recomended mining so what is wise to select? am now lvl 16 and heading towards 20 easy in one day with the quest and a bit farm at vanilla nostalrius so give me ur lights and directions community best regards

and if u can answear me something else if posible to make gold whats are the best to choose and which class to connect it?...ofc am thinking that doing it on an another char to have him making stuffs when i need it am thinking shaman herbalism alchemy if u agree tell me so or am doing something wrong for my future, remember and notice am new to this dont know much so dont hate me and help to imporove so i can help in the future others thank you best lucks

Dont do what I did. I spent 5 hours and a lot of mats getting to 385 in SW . I followed a guide I found somewhere. Then reading another guide it said i could go to Stormshield and train from 1 -700 . OMG i went from 385 to 680 ( goal was 600) in 5 min making gliders. 285 to be exact. Trying to do it the old way is close to impossible since no one sells the materials you need to lvl up. Example NO FEL IRON in the AH.
I kind of want to delete what i did and start at SS to clean up my tab.
