About the Author
This guide is written by Wordup, a long-time Enhancement player and moderator on the
Shaman Discord server, Earthshrine

Macros
Macros are simple, in-game tools which allow you to sequence spells together, create custom names and icons, cast different abilities depending on whether the target is friendly or hostile, define targeting conditions, and much, much more. While the amount of options can be complex, making them is easy, so in this section we'll go over how to set them up yourself.
To open the in-game Macro interface, type "/macro" or "/m".
Choose between the General and Character-specific macro tabs. Then click the "New" button on the macro window.
Choose a Name and an Icon so you can easily recognize your macro, then click "Okay."
Select your new macro and use the text editor below to tell it what to do. If copying ours below, you can simply copy/paste the text in.
Click the "Save" button, and drag your macro icon onto your bars, which will allow it to be used just like any other spell from your spellbook.
To close the window, click "Exit", or just press Escape.
For more information on creating macros, including full lists of conditionals, modifiers, and other command customizations you can use, check out our full
Macros guide
.
These can be created in the Macros window by simply copy and pasting the coded code into the creator. These will perform specific actions above the regular button presses that can alleviate some targeting issues or ability problems by automating part of the ability:
Focus Cast Macros
Enhancement has a number of spells you may want to target using the /Focus targetting option. You can replace the
sample text
in the macro below with spells such as
Limpiar espíritu
,
Maleficio
,
Purgar
, or
Corte de viento
depending on your preference:
#showtooltip
/cast Sample Text
Mouseover Macros
In some cases being able to apply DoTs or cast spells/heals on targets without having to switch targets is extremely useful. You can use the following macro to make the desired spell cast on the target you are currently mousing over instead of your active target. Replace the
sample text
with the desired spell name:
#showtooltip
/cast Sample Text
Automatic Projection Macro
To make it easier to carry
Tótem Viento furioso
around with you in high movement encounters, if
Proyección totémica
is taken, you can macro it to any of our frequently used rotational abilities as it's off the GCD. This will move
all
totems however, so bear that in mind for other totems when using this. As an example I'll use
Golpe de tormenta
, but you can replace it in this macro with any button of your choice:
#showtooltip
/cast Stormstrike
/cast Totemic Projection
All-In-One Imbues and Lightning Shield
This can be used to get both of your
Arma Viento furioso
and
Arma Lengua de Fuego
enhancements and
Escudo de relámpagos
rebuffed with one binding, just press it 3 times!
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=10 Flametongue Weapon, Lightning Shield, Windfury Weapon
Self-Cast Healing Surge
When using this, it will bypass your current target and always make sure your
Oleada de sanación
will target yourself for defensive purposes. You should generally also have the ability bound to another button so you can heal other targets when this isn't necessary.
#showtooltip
/cast Healing Surge
Totem Placement
The following two macros will place named Totem (also works with
Proyección totémica
) without having to use a targeting circle to do so, just replace the
sample totem
with the name of the Totem you wish to place. The first will place if at your feet when pressed immediately:
#showtooltip
/cast Sample Totem
And this will place it where your cursor is currently targetting:
#showtooltip
/cast Sample Totem
Ice Strike / Fire Nova Macro
Given these talents are rarely (if ever) taken together, this will allow you to bind them to the same key and use it to activate either
Nova de Fuego
or
Golpe de hielo
depending on your selection
#showtooltip
/cast Fire Nova; Ice Strike
Addons
Addons are powerful tools that can be used to both customize your gameplay experience, ranging from graphical overlays, replacement action bars, and unit/raid frames, to performance enhancements such as rotation helping spell reminders, buff/debuff tracking, popup reminders, and boss warnings. Here are some of the highly recommended and commonly used Enhancement Shaman addons, which are certainly not required to play, but can go a long way toward increasing the information available to you in combat or simply make for a more pleasant viewing experience.
Unlike Macros, managing Addons is done outside of the game, but our
How to Install and Maintain Addons Guide
will take you step-by-step through the process.
WeakAuras
This is the most versatile addon any player can make use of, and should be used by everyone. The sheer flexibility and number of things that can be done with this is fantastic, and you can make use of sites such as
Wago
to search for suites of auras to track different things, or import from fellow players! You can find some specific Enhancement WeakAura packages on our specific Enhancement Weak Auras page.
Hekili
For players who are looking for a rotation helper,
Hekili
can provide a powerful tool using imported SimulationCraft profiles to generate a guideline for your next button presses in the priority sequence. This is useful for new and experienced players alike to give some assistance grasping the rotation and is well maintained.
BossMods
: BossMods are addons that show you a timer of upcoming boss abilities and make noises if you stand in fire. You can choose between
Deadly Boss Mods
and
BigWigs
. I would recommend BigWigs.
Damage meter
:
Skada
or Details are the perfect addons to let you check the damage you and your raid member do. These addons are also useful to track interrupts, dispels or deaths.
Download UI
: If you don't want to make your own UI you can also download UI packages. The most common recommendation is to use ElvUI. ElvUI is a replacement for the standard Blizzard UI that is very easy to configure and a lot of high-end raiders are using. Check wago.io for profiles, or check out streamers on Twitch.
