Ok since the first two comments before mine are useless since we know both abilities from pet page in game and that you always usually have to do multiple runs to get pet/toy drops I will give you better info. As a test I have noticed killing more of certain mobs increase chances of pet drops of certain types also with toys for island expeditions.

Today I killed almost every gorilla on Molten Cay during a normal run myself. I say almost every because I did not cover entire island (mostly east side for run) so there may have been more left on the island’s other side. At the end of run I was awarded a False Knuckkebump. I had done many runs before but I did not kill many gorillas in the past.

I also received my 7th Magic Monkey Banana in two days as group killed more hozen than other mobs on Un’gol Ruins when item dropped. I have also received duplicates of certain pets already tying into mobs that were killed. This leads me to believe certain mobs increase your chance at pet or toy drops which would make sense as Blizz has done this in past with other stuff. So while there may be some random rng involved try killing more of one type of mob and see if it increases your chances during an expedition.

Some great news on these drops and ways to have a better shot at them! For those who have not seen it yet, Wowhead posted an article that mostly spells out how to have a higher chance to get them and how this was determined:

So if you queue up with people and are wanting these, it seems best to kill the named rares, loot treasures and focus killing the mobs who are invading as well (when those occur (seemingly more in normal mode)) along with the same types of mobs who these drops belong too (and some of those are still being figured out). This may also mean not killing the elementals that spawn, as was mentioned by some in comments.... Good luck to all and credit to all those involved in figuring this out!

Golpenudillo artificial is a Mechanical Gorilla pet available from Island Expeditions.

The False Knucklebump is required for He venido a por las mascotas. It is cageable and can be bought from the Auction House, which gives credit towards this achievement.

While doing IE i killed Crushknuckle rare npc and at end of it i received this pet. not sure if it was RNG or because i killed named rare.
