56,37 is the perfect place to farm this. Respawns are close together and fast. You never even have to move from your spot if you are range.

Spent over 3 hours farming, one and a half farming Etherwyrm Shadewing who supposedly has 17% drop. After almost going mad I began going from camp to camp. gave up after around 3 hours and did a side quest that has you killing diferent etherwyrms. It ended up dropping from the last malnorished etherwyrm I had to kill.
I take it it can drop from any etherwyrm. dont start on this if you have other things to do. blizzard will probably up this drop chance. No way its supposed to be this grindy to get a little item that gives you a small buff.

Took me way over two hours of non stop grind.

In that time at least I farmed some ore.

Other than that someone else came in killed few mobs got the item.

I swear the RNG hates me with premeditation in this game :D

Dropped for me in a cave with a treasure in Bastion at 46, 46.
There were 2 Reclusive Etherwyrms in the cave, low hp.
One of the Etherwyrms dropped the flute. Plus, you get the treasure as well.

I got mine from Vermis de éter alasombría at (54,20) while doing daily quests for Eternal Forge.
I tried to farm it before with no luck and gave it up, now it happened to just drop from random wyrm on the other side of map. Sometimes when RNG is not in your favor, just let it be, it will surely drop for you in some time.

Got this in the cave at 55, 42 doing the world quest Training Regimen from an Agitated Etherwyrm. Interesting thing is that none of these mobs actually have drops so when I saw one actually giving me the option to loot it I was surprised (and happy to see what it was). If these mobs are here while the WQ isn't up I would suggest this cave because they spawn very fast.

For players who are stuck with an extra Flauta kyriana rota, Blizzard has apparently hotfixed a solution. It's not very specific, but good luck to anyone who searches for this NPC.

According to the hotfix:

Players who pass through Oribos, the Eternal City, and have an extra Broken Kyrian Flute in their bags that they cannot get rid of, should be taken care of thanks to an undisclosed Broker contact in the area.

I got it after 10 minutes of farming with this method.

Go to 49.45 on the middle cliff.

There should be 2 packs of 5-7 Wyrms on each side.

Kill the packs, Hop Server (Join Group->Questing->Bastion)

And keep rotating servers.

Hi, wanted to share some information.
I went to the places that everybody was talking about and farmed for the flute for hours, but it didn't drop for me at all.

Then I went to the Eternal Forge for another treasure I wanted to get.
And saw Etherwyrm Shadwings around pond(Coods 52.89 21.47), killed 3 of them.
I got the Broken Kyrian Flute!

Alright. My first ever comment on Wowhead. This is getting ridiculous. I have been on this thing for months... I am reading others people comments about farming this thing for hours. That is just funny. Try a month! I have been farming for a month all of the best spots to get the damn thing. No drop at all! I must have killed thousands of those by now! I do not have the item in my bags or in the bank of course. My level is 60. Do you guys think i should open a ticket? I cannot get my Shadowlands Explorer Achievement because of this!

Farmed the Unsettled Etherwyrms for what seems like forever. Came here to see that the Agitated Etherwyrms can also drop it. Decided to give it a shot. 8 kills later, got the flute but nothing else, however, mission accomplished!

The highest drop rate for the flute is tied to the the Agitated Etherwyrm at 55.7, 42.9 inside a cave. They do not drop anything else, do not let that discourage you, I got mine after 10 minutes.
ps: I was Necrolord so it's not tied to Kyrian.

Probably the best way to get this is from Vermis de éter agitada
In theory a lot of Etherwyrm drop this, the Farm spot at /way 56 37. is not bad, they have a very good respawn timer compared to Vermis de éter alasombría which have a terrible respawn timer and are relatively spread out.
BUT by the power of crowdsourcing information we have realistic drop chances on mobs.
Vermis de éter agitada having a 2% ish dropchance and a fast respawn timer should be the best way to get it.
I got it there so I can confirm they drop it. They drop nothing else. So as soon as you see that you can loot one of them - that's the flute.

As an estimate with 2% if you get unlucky you are still looking at 100 kills. I tried several other spots and Etherwyrms and it probably took me over 400, but the Agitated took me 30ish. Considering I did worldquests there in the past it probably took me a lot more overall.

No reason for this item to have a so low drop rate. I've tried all those spots mentioned in the comments and farming there for about 30 minutes, but none worked for me. In the last chance, I decided to farm around the chest and after 5 min, this item dropped from Unsettled Etherwyrm

!Updated Story For Everyone!

I got the flute within the first three of four days of starting Shadowlands in the first part, where you are going from covenant to covenant. It dropped from the Etherwyrms above Aspirant's Rest.

I picked Night Fae and did not focus on what was happening in Bastion. Of course, in the beginning, we are all focused on what we are getting and based on our professions, etc. I initially could not find out anything about the Broken Kyrian Flute and decided to get rid of it because I needed the bag space. (Enchanting and Jewelcrafting take up a lot of space!)

As I was almost finished with the achievement Treasures of Bastion when I realized I had not completed that one treasure and was devastated, realizing I had discarded the flute. I looked at every possible place it could be. I checked every bag, bank slot, and alt in case it was mistakenly allowed to be traded initially. I even tried to go back and see if I could have it restored. When I realized it was nowhere, I started farming it. Based on the drop rate on Wowhead, I knew it would be a long tedious process. It was six months of farming for me, averaging about 90 minutes a day—all the different areas, but mainly in the cave below Hero's Rest at around 55,42.

Finally, during the weeks leading up to Dragonflight, when everyone was gone, I filed a ticket with Blizzard asking if I should accept, since I discarded it in the first place, that I should anticipate never getting it again. If that was the case, I needed to go back to my other alt and gather all the treasures that way. The person told me to go back and check all my bags again to make sure, but they did not close the ticket. I looked again, found nothing, and sent a message back up, but this was the week of the launch of Dragonflight, so I knew the response would not be any time soon.

Lazy Sunday afternoon, I had to go over on my warrior to do an RSVP for my Ember Court party on my alt and decided to farm to see what would happen. I got the flute on my sixth kill and ran over and completed the treasure. But unlike the Shards, these treasures do not count across characters. I updated my ticket to let the tech support know I had gotten it on a different character, but still not my main.

But I crossed my fingers, and I hearthed, logged out, and got on my primary character, who just happened to be sitting in Ardenweald. Went through the Portal and went straight to Hero's Rest. Dropped down, and on my 8th kill, I received the flute. I completed the treasure. I went back to my Blizzard ticket and thanked everyone who may have decided and been nice enough to turn up the drop rate to thank them for that decision.

I don't know what will happen if any of the world quests in this small area are up at the same time. None of those world quests were up when I got this.

If you have not received your flute yet, GO and farm the cave. That was two broken flute drops for two characters in less than 5 minutes. It is easy to know if it drops for you. These Etherwymns don't drop anything, so you don't have to take the time to loot. If you see sparkles, you are in luck. You just run back and forth from the front of the cave down to the second level. Both times they dropped off one downstairs and next to the furnace. The respawn rate is insane. As you run down, taking them all out, turn around, and run back up, they are already respawning.

If this has been the only thing left for you to do this is the time!

I feel so stupid... I decided today to finish my treasures achievements in Shadowlands. Farmed about 3hours different locations for this, before I noticed a comment saying you can't delete those... Since I played that character in shadowlands, I decided to go check my bank... How can I forgot I had the 5 instruments sitting there *facepalm* Lost 3 hours of my day for nothing but a broken brain
