So... I started playing diablo 3 for the first time ever this month. Sounds to me like they're adding in a blood shard vendor. It's not fun in that game, and it won't be fun in this game. Especially as someone who got his very first BM specific legendary as the fourth legendary for the first time a few weeks ago :P I was really hoping SV's BLP would be reset so I could go rock that. Even though I shudder at the thought of getting SV up to 54 :P
Have mist walk replace roll when picked as a talent or something, It's screwing over all the monks who are used to and enjoy using it.
Honestly, the legendaries like Sephuz and Prydaz should NOT count as having earned one. Sure, they're nice stat sticks with slightly useful buffs, but the only thing legendary about them is how mad I got when FIVE CONSECUTIVE CHARACTERS GOT SEPHUZ. All of my current 110's have Sephuz. One has Prydaz. My warrior has Aggramar's Stride (also pretty much a stat stick), my Druid who I didn't even intend to play got some bracers (tank ones that add another point to a defensive, which is my only GOOD legendary) and my Hunter has Butcher's Bloody Apron (Somewhat decent for Survival, but not amazing). My warrior also got a third legendary, but it's a tank one. So, my warrior has a slightly better chance to get a real legendary item in 7.2 if luck doesn't screw me before them. I'm already expecting a Prydax though. For those of you fortunate enough to have not had your drops wasted on the two utility "legendary" items, here's hoping you all get good legendary items. I sincerely hope you don't share my suffering.
Legendaries : well at least they are doing SOMETHING. It's better than stubbornly insisting on keeping the flawed system we presently have. However it's half-useful. Most people who need a specific legendary today probably have been running with the desired loot-spec and probably already received two or more legendaries which, in that example, are not what the one(s) they expected. So the incoming changes are near useless : they already blew their chances at getting a quick spec-specific legendary anyway ! Sure, they can now target a specific slot ( and do we even know if all slots will be covered? Even trinkets/jewlery? ) but with a low base chance of getting a legendary it won't really change a thing for them. Farm Grind Wait Hope.On the other hand, people who have actually been looking for a specific cross-spec legendary ( as a war tank I'd very much like Esposas sanguinarias de Mannoroth ) can just switch to a spec they have never used and profit.Still, I think that legendaries that can be obtained by any class should not reset the chances to get a class-specific legendary. IE Prydaz, obra maestra de Xavaric should not get in the way of finding the Manacles. Maybe these items shouldn't fully reset the infamous Bad Luck Protection. Maybe legendaries should actually be weighted down by overall usefulness and affect BLP differently : while I got Aggramar's Stride which gives more run speed, it doesn't hold a candle to Guanteletes de escama tormentosa de Kakushan. Sure, it's hard work and miscalculating an item overall effectiveness can result in a lot of flak from the players, but hey, it may be better than "everything has the same usefulness" when it's just wrong...edit : realizing they actually didn't asnwer the very first question clearly. If a legendary that can be obtained in all spec drops, will it "kill" the first legendary chance for all spec at once, or only for the spec you are currently in ?edit 2 : oh well no they more or less say that it will blow the chance for every spec at once. According to them, it's lucky enough to get a legendary that can work for every specs so it's okay. Too bad for those out there that only play one spec because they are dedicated tanks or healers, hey ?
so my main can't do mythic+, raids, emissary until it gets chains from these tokens, fun way to target amirite
Make Legendaries BoA. Problem solved. Yes, there will still be a gap between people who got super lucky or super unlucky, but it will also bridge the gap tremendously as well and allow people to play the class and spec they like rather than the one that has the best legendaries and will do the most dps/more healing/better tanking which people, whether the community wants admit it or not, are STILL doing after all this time. As long as classes and legendaries aren't balanced, Blizz will never be able to break the mentality of people who only want to take certain classes to their raids because those classes are OPed as sheeeeeeit. For example, our disc Priest is the first to be sat "because disc priests just aren't strong enough" in comparison to other healing classes. Blizz wants us to play the class we like and then makes it impossible to play the class we like and this is especially true for Mythic Raiders. So what? Don't Raid Mythic then? Lamest argument ever. I'm already forcing myself to log in now as it is. Take away the one thing I play this game for and I won't log in at all. I'll play Final Fantasy or some other MMO instead and I'm seeing this happen a lot lately with other players who have just reached the end of their rope with this gap between OPed classes and UPed (aka nonviable) classes. The imbalance in this game as been an ongoing issue since I can remember. I understand that balancing is a complicated issue and I appreciate Blizz at least attempting to resolve it. Maybe it's simply not possible to balance classes, but stop making "useless" items then. Someone said something about this not really being Blizz's fault; it's the people. That is true to a certain extent, but blizz as all the power and that power dictates the behavior of people. Make a certain class/legendary OPed then people will gravitate to that class. Of course they will, especially if it means having a spot on a raid team or not having a spot on a Raid team because at the end of day Raiding guilds want to kill bosses. Blizz can keep the cap on how many legendaries you can equip, so even if ALL of your legendary are BiS, you can still only equip 2 or 3. Eventually people who've had bad luck will catch up anyway particularly if they have better drops on alts. Being forced to play a spec I don't really love just because it's more viable or got luckier with legendary drops and I'm paying actually money to Blizz to do it. Yeah, that just doesn't feel right. Yeah, I know, F yo feelings. Well, it doesn't make sense logically either.
Why isnt there a loot spec option for legendarys? Im sick of getting a legendary for the false spec just because i wanted to roll on a dps spec for this specific boss (or for friends to trade) while i need healing legendarys. The option to get a legendary item which will give you a legendary specific to your current spec when using it would be the perfect way.At the moment im not only victim of the quality of my healing legendary but also to the loot spec. A very bad design overall which frustrates a LOT.
