Blizzard Commissions Hench and Scrap Foundry to Create Tyrael's Armor
29/09/2021 a las 12:28
People are very excited about the launch of the awaited remaster of Diablo 2, DII: Resurrected.. To commemorate this launch, Blizzard ANZ asked propmakers
Hench and Scrap Foundry
to create a life-sized version of
This has been the most ambitious collaboration from Oarin "
" Tremont and Clare "
" Beaton together with Blizzard yet, as they have worked on past props like WoW's
Twin Blades of Azzinoth
Shadowlands Covenant weapons
. The end result is absolutely insane, and *nothing* is photoshopped on the final result - Not even the wings! The photoshoot happened at the St. Peter's Cathedral in Adelaide, with Oarin donning the armor.
This fantastic project took a long time to make - The Tyrael armor has 88 total bits that took almost 40 days to 3D print with 6 3D printers! The armor is not fully 3D printed, as it was also padded with foam for extra comfort and mobility. Tyrael's sword, El'druin, weighs over 3 kilograms (or 6.6lbs!), and the combined 18 meters of wings take over 200 watts of electricity to power up. The armor was painted with different shades of gold paint.
They even made a very cool little "making of" video which
tweeted out. Watching them working tirelessly for hours is always a joy, and seeing the armor in movement is even more insane.
