Blizzard has been hard at work tinkering with professions, working on classes, and fixing a million other miscellaneous things to bring the game better in line with their vision.
In an effort to keep you guys from having to read all the boring details now that 3.0.8 (
patch notes
) is live, I've decided to to point out some changes or additions which I thought deserved extra attention. To quote Samuel L. Jackson, "Hold on to your butts!"
Find out more after the break!
Blizzard continues to focus majority of their efforts toward class mechanics and it really shows. With literally several dozen changes to class mechanics including abilities, talents, and even Glyphs one would think this patch was already large enough. However, like most patches they included a good helping of changes and additions. Here's a few quoted from the patch notes:
The run speed in spirit form has been increased by 50%. Night Elves in Wisp form will now move at a bonus 75% speed.
A recipe has been added for
Kungaloosh
. You can learn
this recipe
from an
NPC
in the
Dalaran
sewers once you have completed the quest
The Taste Test
in
Sholazar Basin
.
All flasks no longer require an alchemy lab to create.
Who could forget the dreaded corpse run at
Blackrock Mountain
? They have also implemented over sixty new graveyards across
Kalimdor
and the
Eastern Kingdoms
. That should definitely speed things up when the inevitable occurs (then again, a little
Kungaloosh
might just do the trick).
Professions aren't being overlooked, either. Mineral veins and deposits no longer require several taps or hits to get all the ore (covered in an earlier blog which you can read
here
). A large number of enchanting recipes are having their reagent costs reduced (see MMO-Champion's list
here
). Alchemy flasks no longer require a lab and some of the transmutations are having cooldowns reduced. There's even a couple new recipes for various professions. One is a pair of epic plate goggles, Unbreakable Healing Amplifiers, which can be learned from engineering trainers in Northrend. The other is a new armor enchantment for shields,
Blindaje de titanio
—which increases block value by 40!
Last, but not least are a few small changes that deserve mentioning. Classic factions such as the Argent Dawn to which reputation was awarded for slaying creatures in dungeons has been reworked. Instead of level eighty players receiving lower amounts of reputation, players will now gain the full amount even when their level is higher than the dungeon or creature in question (in most cases). My most anticipated change is that we are now able to open clams while stealthed, invisible, on a mount or vehicle, or even when sitting. And as if that weren't enough, the chat frames in the player interface are given the option to become "unclickable" so they never interfere with the game environment again (unless you chose otherwise).
I know I didn't cover everything and that the changes to classes alone could make up several blog entries, but out of everything we have found or know by now,
what change are you most excited about in patch 3.0.8?
Is there something missing you had hoped to see?
