06/08/2019 a las 08:57
The first 8.2.5 PTR build has finally gone live, and we get our first look at a new Alliance reputation, the Honeyback Hive, which awards the long-awaited
Arnés de cosechadora mielabdomen
. In this post, we will go through their introductory questline, as well as talk a bit about the new reputation and how to earn favor with the Honeyback Hive!
Honeyback Hive Introduction
You will meet the Honeyback Hive with the help of
, found standing by a boat near the Mildenhall Meadery flight master in Stormsong Valley. It's kinda hard to miss the guy covered in bees.
Barry has pretty standard dialogue for someone into beekeeping, but upon approaching Barry with the bee battle pet
captures his attention - Barry will mention the presence of a new bee hive in Stormsong Valley, and Bumbles will detect pheromones which will guide you to that very hive!
Some people like dogs, or cats, or horses.
Me? I like bees.
Shame about that allergy, though.
Barry: Oi, you there. Seems to be a new hive in town. Keep an eye out!
Barry: Looks like your little fellow is on to something. It might be able to lead you to their nest!
The pheromone trail will guide you all the way to the Honeyback Hive Cavern, located in Tidebreak Summit, above Sagehold. Upon approaching the cave, you will be stopped by the massive Honeyback Hivemother, who is fiercely defending her hive! Luckily, our new pal Barry is is here to lend a hand.
Barry suggests trying to appease the Hivemother by giving her something she likes; pointing you to a nearby jelly deposit. You can loot a
from the deposit, and bring it back to the Hivemother... who is not very pleased by the offering. Barry intervenes yet again, explaining to the angry bee that we're just trying to help.
Honeyback Hivemother brandishes her stinger menacingly!
Barry discreetly beckons you over.
Barry: Hey, I have an idea. Come here.
Just let me do the talking, stranger! I have a knack for this sort of thing.
<Barry winks at you.>
> Uh, sure?
Barry: We should probably start with introductions.
Barry: My... name... is... Barry!
Honeyback Hivemother shimmies.
Barry: Pleased... to... meet... you!
Honeyback Hivemother wiggles.
Barry: Huh. Very... Interesting! Continue!
Honeyback Hivemother spins.
Barry: Leave... it... to... me!
Barry: There we are. See? Nothing to worry about.
Barry: What? You didn't catch that? Haha. Come on inside. I'll explain.
Finally able to get past the Hivemother, you'll discover the Honeyback Hatchery, which is filled with bees and honeycombs. Barry tells us a bit more about the Honeyback Hive and will direct you to a larva, which you have the opportunity to nurture.
They've certainly made themselves at home, haven't they?
Now then. I'm sure you have questions Ol' Barry here is happy to answer!
What can I help you with?
> What was that all about?
What was what about?
Oh, the Hivemother?
My friend, you really ought to learn to speak bee.
She told me that this hive is new to the region. No idea where they might have come from, but they're here now. They are going through the usual struggle to find enough food to keep things moving and the like. Something about ettins and bears.
Regardless, I told her we would help her out. So if you happen to spot an opportunity to help our new friends, I'm sure they'd be grateful.
> What do you mean?
Barry: You might start by taking that bit of jelly you found and feeding it to this here larva. Couldn't hurt.
Beekeeping and You
Your mission now is to feed the Nascent Harvester. To do so, you will need to locate Jelly Deposits, which can be found in many areas all over Stormsong Valley. Inside these deposits, you will find more
and other rare drops, such as the
which will add a teeny tiny fez hat to
fed to the Nascent Harvester will grant
with the Honeyback Hive, but you have a choice in using them to feed the Harvester for reputation or combining them into a better currency which can lead to other rewards, detailed below.
Other sources of jelly include finding Honeyback Harvesters and helping them harvest more jelly for the hive. We have also spotted the Honey Smasher, a boss-level Ettin that seems to really be into honey, and might be another source for jelly.
Honeyback Hive Reputation
Now that you're friends, the Honeyback Hivemother serves as a vendor for the Honeyback Hive faction. She uses
as a currency, and can either exchange them for better jellies to feed to your Nascent Harvester, or trade you items.
Currently, there appears to be
with the Honeyback Hive faction, with the entire premise of the faction being grinding
to raise your reputation with them.

Honeyback Harvester Mount
The Bee mount was initially revealed the WoW: What's Next Panel at BlizzCon 2018, and it finally has a name:
Arnés de cosechadora mielabdomen
. The mount can now be found on the mount journal on the 8.2.5 PTR, with the source being the quest
Leaving the Hive: Harvester
. Presumably, this quest will be obtainable once you hit Exalted with the Honeyback Hive, and the Harvester you've been caring for finally being big enough to ride!
As of Build 31337,
the mount is tagged as Alliance-only in the journal
. Keep in mind that we are very early in the 8.2.5 PTR cycle, so some things may change between now and the time the patch goes live.
Not only can you preview mounts in the Journal, it now shows your character riding the selected mount too!
