You can start Mechagon with Tinkmaster Overspark, by picking up the quest
La leyenda de Mecandria
next to the Tradewinds Market flight path in Boralus. From there, you will meet Tinkmaster Overspark by the Rusted Vault in Tiragarde Sound.
Tinkmaster Overspark: Just imagine, <player>... a vault full of lost technology, left behind by the last king of the gnomes!
Tinkmaster Overspark: What if King Mechagon is inside? What if I rescue him? I'll be FAMOUS!
Tinkmaster Overspark: Uh, I mean WE will be famous. Let's go!
Tinkmaster Overspark: Look! This is clearly ancient gnomish technology!
Archaeo-Tinkologist: I concur, but that doesn't mean that this is Mechagon.
Tinkmaster Overspark: Of course it's Mechagon! This is the discovery of a lifetime!
We then enter the vault in
, and witness an old gnomish structure. We then repair the structure with the help of the Tinkologists in
Tinkmaster Overspark: Gila, please take notes. I want to record our actions for future study.
Gila Crosswires: Tinkmaster's log: Under the expert leadership of Tinkmaster Overspark, the team has entered the vault.
Tinkmaster Overspark: This is incredible!
Tinkmaster Overspark: My fellow tinkologists, we have made a great discovery!
Tinkmaster Overspark: The technology in this vault is still intact.
Tinkmaster Overspark: If we can unlock its secrets, we will surely find Mechagon!
Gila Crosswires: The Tinkmaster's examination of the vault has begun.
With the device properly repaired, it is time to enter Mechagon in
Tienes que tener esta altura
! However, an image of King Mechagon shows up, talking about the true purpose of Mechagon. An "awesome event" happens, and everyone who is not a gnome is promptly zapped by King Mechagon! According to this event, though, Tinkmaster Overspark has been chosen by King Mechagon, and we return to Boralus with Gila Crosswires in
Preséntate ante Gila
King Mechagon: Brothers and sisters of gnomanity! For generations, the curse of flesh has condemned us to obsoletion.
King Mechagon: But no more! At long last, the perfect of our original titan-forged design will be restored!
King Mechagon: All who are worthy shall join me in Mechagon and be cleansed of the Old God's corruption.
King Mechagon: Step forth, and be judged in the eyes of invention. Together, we will reclaim our true legacy!
According to Gila Crosswires, the main attribute to guarantee survival in Mechagon is... to be a gnome! So, we assemble a gnomish team in
Un equipo reducido
. The first team member is Sapphronetta Flivvers, the gnome girl from Before the Storm and
one of the creators of Feathers
! She accepts the invitation, but asks to invite her partner and lover, the goblin Grizzek Fizzwrench! They've been living in a safe house in Boralus, creating new inventions.
Grizzek Fizzwrench: Alright Punkin, let's go find this King Mechagon!
Sapphronetta Flivvers: <player>, we'll start packing and meet you later at the departure point.
Grizzek Fizzwrench: I'll get my fuses, the spare rocket parts and the Azerite.
Sapphronetta Flivvers: We'll need a disguise for you Grizzek, we don't want to attract too much attention.
Sapphronetta Flivvers: We'll need the auto-hammer, the electromagnet, the micro-anvil, and the tea press.
Grizzek Fizzwrench: Let's bring that entire crate of pirate scout cookies we bought!
Sapphronetta Flivvers: I'm bringing the full set of sixty-two hydrospanners.
Grizzek Fizzwrench: Where's my socks?
The third member we recruit is Cog Captain Winklespring, by the side exit of Boralus. Winklespring made an appearance on the short story
Gelbin Mekkatorque: Cut Short
After all team members are gathered, we meet at the departure point, where Overspark does not miss an opportunity to poke fun at Grizzek, now disguised as a gnome.
Tinkmaster Overspark: I must say, Grizzek, your outfit is quite peculiar.
Sapphronetta Flivvers: It's for the... uh... radiation poisoning! Right, sweetie?
Grizzek Fizzwrench: Right! The radiation. From Gnomeregan. Where I am definitely from.
We then fly to Mechagon in
El principio de algo más grande
, and after some dialogue, we're shot down, crashing down in the shores of Mechagon!
Cog Captain Winklespring: Away we go!
Cog Captain Winklespring: Mechagon coordinates locked in!
Tinkmaster Overspark, Grizzek and I want to thank you for the opportunity to accompany you to Mechagon.
Tinkmaster Overspark: Ordinarily, I would not have made the offer.
Tinkmaster Overspark: You've never been patient with your lab work, Sapphronetta.
Tinkmaster Overspark: Which explains why you gravitated towards the Explorer's League.
Grizzek Fizzwrench: Told you to not say anything.
Tinkmaster Overspark: However, that impulsive drive also makes you pefect for this expedition.
Tinkmaster Overspark: I need brash dare-do-alls like you and Grizzek to lead the way into the dangerous unknown!
Grizzek Fizzwrench: I think he's saying we're expendable.
The Resistance Needs Us
Overspark thinks Mechagon mistook us for enemies, and we explore Rustbolt, an exile city in the surface of Mechagon, in
. Saffy and Grizzy ran ahead and talked to King Mechagon's son, Prince Erazmin. After Overspark makes a fool of himself, Gazlowe also appears and offers to help Erazmin. This introduces us to the Mechagon faction, the Rustbolt Resistance!
Tinkmaster Overspark: Sapphronetta and Grizzek ran ahead, no doubt to prepare the town for my arrival.
Tinkmaster Overspark: Dust yourself off, <player>. King Mechagon will surely wish to address us personally.
Rustbolt Engineer: Assistance required in sector W-2!
Tinkmaster Overspark: Not quite the reception I had envisioned...
Sapphronetta Flivvers: Your people have been through so much, Prince Erazmin. We are--
Tinkmaster Overspark: Greetings, King Mechagon. I am Tinkmaster Overspark. I have come to introduce your technology to the entire world!
Prince Erazmin: I am not King Mechagon. He is my father... and he is a madman who must be stopped.
Prince Erazmin: We were all exiled from the underground city of Mechagon. Our goal is to--
Tinkmaster Overspark: Wait... this place isn't Mechagon? Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get going!
Sapphronetta Flivvers: I think what Tinkmaster Overspark means is...
Grizzek grunts and nudged Sapphronetta.
Sapphronetta Flivvers: Of course we'll join your cause, Prince Erazmin. That's why we're here!
Gazlowe: Uh, yeah, that's why we came out here, too. Sign us up!
Tinkmaster Overspark: Hah! As if the Horde would help anyone! Your bloated trade prince doesn't know the meaning of the word!
Gazlowe: Don't mind him, Prince. Me and my crew are willin' to lead a hand. Just tell us what needs doin' and we'll do it!
Prince Erazmin: With your assistance, we can foil my father's schemes and save my people.
Prince Erazmin: Welcome to the Rustbolt Resistance!
After introducing ourselves, we ride with Erazmin, Overspark and Gazlowe in
¡La Resistencia te necesita!
, where Erazmin explains more about the situation in Mechagon.
Prince Erazmin: Gazlowe, Overspark. Please accompany me.
Prince Erazmin: I must assert that the resistance does not tolerate in-fighting.
Prince Erazmin: Friendship between you is not a requirement. But cooperation is.
Prince Erazmin: Process this information as we proceed.
Prince Erazmin: You may have noticed that Rustbolt is not currently operating at peak efficiency.
Prince Erazmin: Mechagon's forces recently raided the settlement. Many of us were apprehended... or worse.
Tinkmaster Overspark: It doesn't make sense... Why would King Mechagon do that to his own people?
Prince Erazmin: My father was once a visionary. But now... he has transformed himself into a heartless machine.
Prince Erazmin: He will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. The Rustbolt Resistance is all that stands in his way.
We then reach Junkwatt Depot, where Resistance members are "reprogrammed" and sent to Mechagon. We then rescue Resistance members in
Rescatar a la Resistencia
and defeat Junkwatt soldiers in
Los ejércitos de mi padre
. In the middle of Junkwatt Depot, we also find a Broken Drill Rig, which Erazmin can help us repair by collecting spare parts from the mobs around Junkwatt in
After the Broken Drill Rig is repaired, it starts digging, and we rescue the builder robot and Rustbolt's most impressive invention, Pascal-K1N6! We then proceed to hack one of King Mechagon's machines, the HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit, in
Enviarle un mensaje a mi padre
After we arrive back in Rustbolt, the city is already in better shape, and Erazmin offers a tour while talking about the Rustbolt Resistance in
Bienvenidos a la Resistencia
Prince Erazmin: As you can observe, we take pride in our ability to refurbish and repurpose technology.
Prince Erazmin: However, we also value our organic components. Our emotions and memories, our personalities.
Prince Erazmin: My father does not share that view. He intends to mechanize the entirety of our people, willing or not.
Prince Erazmin: The choice to install upgrades belongs to each of us. No one can strip us of that autonomy.
Prince Erazmin: It seems we have an impressive haul today, Christy.
Christy Punchcog: Yes, sir. Their tech is improving. We can hardly keep up.
Prince Erazmin looks at the fully mechanized Sentry and sighs.
Prince Erazmin: The extent of this mechanization... is there even a gnome left in there?
Christy Punchcog: I have yet to determine that. King Mechagon has converted over 990f their physical composition.
Prince Erazmin: We will stop him. We must stop him.
Prince Erazmin: Most of the resistance still have family and friends within Mechagon.
Prince Erazmin: We fight not only for our own freedom, but for theirs as well.
Prince Erazmin: If my father succeeds, then all of us will end up like that machine on the wall.
Prince Erazmin: He'd erase everything that makes us who we are. We cannot allow that to happen.
Prince Erazmin: Thank you for your assistance. But there remains much more to do.
This concludes the introduction to Mechagon, and many grinding quests open up in the zone.
