Tame a Boss! Chromaggus & More New Hunter Pets in Cataclysm Beta!
15/11/2010 a las 16:29
Just a little note for all you Beast Masters and hunter pet collectors out there! The definitive hunter pet blog
recently reported that everyone's favorite chromatic
is now tameable in the latest Cataclysm Beta build! I don't know about you guys, but this is my old school hunter's greatest nerd dream come true. Chromaggus isn't the only new Core Hound we'll be seeing in Cataclysm - there's another new skin available to hunters, a slightly more yellow-tinged beastie by the name of
who can be found romping around in
Las Tierras Devastadas
. But honestly, who cares about that guy - CHROMAGGUS! For those who prefer a more "classic" Core Hound look, it's worth mentioning that
is now tameable as well.
Check out some other awesome new hunter pet additions after the break!
Chromaggus isn't the only boss who's suddenly going to find himself under a mere hunter's control - in a previous patch, Blizzard made many of the Anh'Qiraj boss silithids tameable as well. Hunters now have their choice of picking up any of the famous 'bug trio' of the
) as well as
Ruinas de Ahn'Qiraj
Buru el Manducador
(you know, the jerk who never dropped his shield).
As much as I love having more hunter pet looks, I can't help but feel strange at the idea of taming a
and then sending it off to fight murlocs or something. It's gotta be a little demeaning, y'know? At least then they're seeing some action, I guess.
Speaking of taming bosses, though, I'm sure many of you guys noticed that someone special got a new model recently -
. Why tame a boss when you can tame a game designer, right? Ghostcrawler has earned himself a tricked out version of his crab avatar, which can be found in-game as a level 85 rare spawn Spirit Beast located at the Abandoned Reef, in the
. Just watch out for the
, its debuff:
! Good luck, pet hunters! Maybe this'll get some of you guys out of Grizzly Hills so I can finally get an
, yeah? ;)
On the subject of Spirit Beasts, it's definitely worth mentioning that there's another new one coming with ol' Ghostie in Cataclysm - a spectral wolf identical to the previously tameable
Guía espiritual Tótem Siniestro ancestral
! As many hunters may remember, this mob was initially tameable through a strange and convoluted process involving
Ansia de sangre
and a clever combination of haste-increasing items. Unfortunately, Blizzard took out the ability for those to be tamed, though they at least left any that had been previously tamed alone (thankfully). Now, lovers of the classic "spectral wolf" will have a new option -
is a level 85 rare spawn which can be found in the
Tierras Altas Crepusculares
. No word yet on whether or not they'll be doing anything to our beloved wolf Spirit Guides - there's never before been two different types of pet with the exact same look!
Be sure to check out
for full details of all of the new upcoming hunter pets! So yeah, anyone else up for begging for
stable slots with me?
