13/06/2020 a las 23:23
BlizzCon 2019 teased cameo appearances from several important characters in WoW's past in Shadowlands. In the latest alpha build, we've met several of these characters -- Draka, Lady Vashj and Alexandros Mograine! In this post, we go through a bit of their previous WoW lore and how they are found in the Shadowlands.
WARNING: SHADOWLANDS STORY SPOILERS AHEAD!
Draka was the mother of Thrall, and was murdered by Blackrock guards loyal to the Shadow Council clan not long after Thrall's birth. In Maldraxxus, Draka was originally part of the House of Eyes, one of the houses that were destroyed in the internal conflict in Maldraxxus. After her house was destroyed, Draka was accepted into the House of the Chosen and quickly rose to the rank of Baroness, replacing the previously Baron who was lost to the Maw.
Draka can be found pretty early on and serves as a guide to the player in Maldraxxus, introducing them to the House of Chosen and serving as a strong ally through the entire questline.
Lady Vashj was once a handmaiden of Queen Azshara herself, being transformed into one of the Naga after Azshara's pact with N'Zoth. Ten thousand years later, Vashj followed the call of Illidan Stormrage and went with him and Kael'thas Sunstrider in Outland. In current WoW, Lady Vashj is killable as the final boss of the Burning Crusade raid

After death, Vashj was sent to Maldraxxus and quickly rose into the ranks of the House of Eyes, one of the houses that have fallen from the internal conflict within the houses of Maldraxxus. After locating Vashj at the request of Draka and helping her exact revenge on those that destroyed her previous House (with some quests named after her fight's popular mechanics like
), Vashj pledges her allegiance to the player.
Vashj also has different dialogue depending on whether the player has slain her in Serpentshrine Cavern or not!
If you have not killed Vashj previously:
Must you wound me? I had hoped my work would carry weight beyond my death.
Like you, I hail from Azeroth. I was known then as "Lady Vashj", servant to Lord Illidan and Queen Azshara.
My soul arrived in Maldraxxus shortly after I was... dispatched in Serpentshrine Cavern.
If you have killed Vashj previously:
The title is "Baroness", little <race>.
Are you truly surprised to see me? After all, you are the one who sent me here.
My soul arrived in Maldraxxus shortly after you... dispatched me in Serpentshrine Cavern.

. Mograine then rose as one of the Lich King's original Four Horsemen, and in canon lore, was killed by his other son, Darion, who escaped with the blade. When Darion returned to the Scarlet Monastery with the blade, Alexandros' corrupted spirit manifested and confronted Renault, now commander of the Scarlet Crusade, and killed him. During a Scourge assault in Light's Hope Chapel, Darion sacrificed himself by plunging the Corrupted Ashbringer into his own chest, freeing Alexandros' spirit from the corruption of the Scourge.
During Wrath of the Lich King, Darion, now a death knight serving the Lich King and wielding Corrupted Ashbringer, led an attack against Light's Hope Chapel. After his defeat at the hands of Tirion Fordring and the Argent Dawn, Alexandros' spirit appeared once more, only for his soul to be claimed by the Lich King. Alexandros' soul is finally sent to the Shadowlands after

In Shadowlands, Alexandros is sent to Maldraxxus and immediately rose into the ranks of the House of the Chosen, claiming the title of Baron. However, Mograine was betrayed by his colleague, Baron Vyraz, who is working with the Jailer together with betrayer houses of Maldraxxus. During the Maldraxxus' questline, Baron Vyraz pretends to be friendly with the player and sends him to the Maw to retrieve Mograine's soul, when in reality they really wanted the player to go away. However, the player, having previously escaped from The Maw, manages to do so once more, bringing Mograine back with him. After Baron Vyraz is defeated, Mograine pledges himself to the player, in their journey to search the Primus, the leader of Maldraxxus.
Something intriguing about Mograine is that he can be seen wearing a Corrupted Ashbringer in Maldraxxus, even though the blade was taken away from him after his death in Naxxramas.
