Welcome to the sixth edition of our Weekend Content Suggestions series! Every Tuesday we highlight new weekly content in
Battle for Azeroth
, but based on recent survey feedback, many of our readers want reminders about tried-and-true content from older expansions that's fun to complete, separate from character progression or competitive content.
Here you will find spotlights on content from older expansions in WoW, perfect to work on over an uninterrupted stretch of time over the weekend. If you have any suggestions as to good weekend
projects, leave them in the comments and we may feature them in a future post!
With the launch of the WoW Classic beta, we're highlighting some content from vanilla!
Also don't forget to check out our new
Mount Collection Tracker
Battle Pet Collection Tracker
, allowing you to track your collection progress, filter mounts and pets by source, view appearances of all mounts and pets in our model viewer and more. A new mount or pet may catch your fancy as something to acquire over the weekend!
Blackwing Lair, a 40-player raid, released on July 12, 2005, in Patch 1.6. The loot level was ilvl 76 and this raid was notable for Tier 2 set bonuses, the trap-filled Suppression Room, and working on the Scarab Lord questline. Learn more about raids from vanilla in our
Classic Raids Overview
Backstory: It is there in the dark recesses of the mountain's peak that Nefarian has begun to unfold the final stages of his plan to destroy Ragnaros once and for all and lead his army to undisputed supremacy over all the races of Azeroth. To this end, he has recently begun efforts to bolster his forces, much as his father Deathwing had attempted to do in ages past.
How to reach Blackwing Lair: Similar to Molten Core, Blackwing Lair is also inside of
Montaña Roca Negra
, which is located in the
Las Estepas Ardientes
. On the northeastern side of the main chamber at 23.6, 26.1 is a balcony. From here take the first possible right down a long corridor that ends in a room with an item called the "Orb of Command" at 64.3, 70.8. Clicking this will teleport you into the instance.

Back in vanilla WoW,
Instructores de sableinvernales
used to be the longest and most repetitive reputation grind in the entire game, which you can read all about in our
Classic WoW Winterspring Frostsaber Reputation Guide
. In Wrath, a Horde-equivalent was added,
Silbato del ravasaurio Pellejo Venenoso
, which uses the daily-quest system instead of the repetitive grind.
As the last uncorrupted furbolg tribe (at least in their view), the Timbermaw seek to preserve their spiritual ways and end the suffering of their brethren.
The Timbermaw Furbolgs inhabit two areas: Azshara and Felwood. They are presumed to be the only furbolg tribe to escape demonic corruption, though this may not be true due to the existence of Krolg, an uncorrupted furbolg of unknown tribe, and the Stillpine tribe on Azuremyst Isle in Burning Crusade. However, many other races kill furbolg blindly now, without bothering to see if they are friend or foe. For this reason, the Timbermaw furbolg trust very few.
Adventurers who seek out Timbermaw Hold in northern Felwood and prove themselves as friends of the Timbermaw will learn that the furbolgs value their friends above all else. Though they possess no fine jewels or any worldly riches, the Timbermaw's shamanistic tradition is still strong. They know much about the art of crafting armors from animal hides, and they are more than happy to share their healing/resurrection knowledge with friends of their tribe. Besides, any reputation above Unfriendly will also grant you untroubled access to Moonglade and Winterspring through their tunnels.
Notable Timbermaw Hold rewards include
Báculo de piel y garra
Defensor de los Fauces de Madera
, and a variety of recipes. As you kill the furbolgs, you'll also loot a lot of
