@Eccentrica: I really love how you worded that, made me smile despite the fact it was actually a sad (and probably true) message.
In late Cataclysm people got used to having several alts, all decently geared. In MoP you cant really have a army of alts, all geared and "competitive" in current content. You need to invest more time into one or maybe two characters. That used to be the way it worked imo in vanilla, TBC, and even Wrath but to a lesser extent...people did not have a abundance of alts. But in Cata everyone and their mother had like 4-7 lvl 85s, all geared. In MoP you need to retire some of those, focus on fewer, more content means less alts. Thats why wow is declining, people cant play all their characters like they could in Cata. Im not saying Cata was better, quite the opposite really, all those alts you needed to have to keep enjoying the game worked back then, not now. My suggestion is that people just should let all characters but their main and one alt rot, and enjoy MoP for the content, then the amount of dailies etc is not at all overwhelming.
Well unless you are one of those who like CRZ of course....
Not picking on you Adamsm, cause I take no issue with you whatsoever, but out of idle curiousity how many sub 85 alts do you have that you play regularly, and how many new alts do you roll?
I completely agree on the spectrum of choice. I was just curious because the degree to which CRZ affects a player (ie, what percentage of their playtime is spent outside of Pandaria and dungeons) would tend to determine their feelings on CRZ.
Rankkor,You totally missed my point. You used Hyperbole. You said the 'Overwhelming majority' was from the East, when in fact the statement just said 'Majority'.So, who knows. Was is 60/40, or 70/30, or maybe 55/45? Overwhelming majority sounds like it was 90/10.So, you can say what you like about the Asian market. There were still significant subs lost in the West.Cheers.
Wow is a victim of its own success in many ways. It is seen as so old now - people always want the newest or latest. Those who are complaining about the daily grind -- that's been eased and it least there's a choice of dailies now. The REAL grind was getting a Netherdrake in Outland!.. While I thought heirlooms were a wonderful idea at first, I now think they proved disastrous. Once dungeons of all levels were challenging. You needed to work as a party, use your cc etc. It was good preparation for raiding. Once there were people in there with a full set of heirlooms they just charged through and the only thing that mattered was speed. Nobody knew or cared much about tactics -- just bang bang and out. Now I see many people like that attempting LFR for the first time. They have no idea what DBM is, they know nothing of tactics and care less. I remember weeks and weeks and weeks spent learning Kara. I appreciated raids getting shorter , not everyone could devote the time it took to do old raids, but now nobody seems to think they need to learn anything. Blizzard has tried to please all of the people all of the time and it cannot be done! Where they also seriously err is in not paying enough attention to all the bugs and problems people have. I have never found a GM less than polite and helpful -- but why in MoP am I having to complain about a bugged quest that came out in WotLK? Why can I STILL not fly in the blood elf and Draenei starting zones? Still, I will go on because I love it !
