YAY! thank you blizzard, the mail mog is so amazing i hope those tokens are fast to obtain cause im gonna wear that 24/7... (is it just me or blizzard designers forgot their brain wrath of the lich king? looks like it.) **let's make some f****** green UGLY set the new reward for the tmog competition** again blizz, good job!
I wanna dieYou can literally get the same exact looking gear from BC Heroic/Normal dungeons...
Looking at the mail ensemble... I'm speechless. Seriously, the rest being from HC TBC dungeons is a lot better than this ugly as hell Vanilla green set (and there are some really passable and neat Vanilla greens around). I can't wrap my head around what Blizz was thinking, at least I know I won't bother with this thing ever.
I'm fine with rewards being sets that are possible but a little tricky to obtain in game. I'm disappointed, though, that they're so... unfashionable. I mean, they're not awful, but I can't really see many people transmogging those sets. Especially the mail one... I've used pieces of the *red* version of that, but I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone wearing the green. If they're going to add old dungeon sets as rewards, I think it would be more satisfying if they'd offer a choice between several.
Also, why, when I mouse over a set, does it pop up an image of that set on a Forsaken? That's probably the worst race it could default to, considering the holes they have in their armor.
I see no incentive to do micro holiday which such lack luster reward. Not like we're doing it for an achievement or FoS..
So let me get this straight... it's an event where the winner of the best dressed is rewarded the most ugly things possible? Worthless!
I am very dissappointed in these rewards i have to say. If i were making this event i would've put in something more worthwhile, like finished appearance sets for the now unobtainable leatherworking and blacksmithing recipes that were never completed (For example : Ebon Netherscale, only the Chest, Belt, Leggings, Shoulders and wrists were in the game (shoulder from old kara, leggings from lord kazzak, the rest were now lost recipes)) the files are there they just needed a bit of recoloring tweaks! But of course i can already see it, WE are going to be the ungrateful little @#$%^&s at the end of the day for not appreciating yet another useless event being shoved down our throats.
Being a major transmog enthusiast, I was psyched for the Trial of Style. Sadly, my excitement vanished once I learned of these mediocre rewards that can be easily obtained elsewhere. I just can't wrap my head around this inane decision.
I am actually extremely disappointed in the rewards. Blizzard has a ton of transmog items and even a couple full sets that they have removed from the game in various ways. They also have a ton of grey and white items that, while not transmoggable, are a lovely appearance and would be amazing as transmogs (or even parts of full sets). There are a *bunch* of options for things they could add in as dungeon-specific. Instead of using this as the perfect way to add them back in, they instead add in full sets that can be obtained in-game as we speak? Hell, I *have* the entire Der'izu set. This is a huge missed opportunity on Blizzard's part, I feel, as well as a huge let-down for the dungeon itself. I will just continue to hope that some of those abovementioned unique items and appearances can somehow be re-added to the game in other ways.
I hope these are placeholder only
This would've been the perfect opportunity to offer players the chance to buy re-colors of existing sets, unavailable to players. Like the re-colored Judgement Armor worn by the guards in the Paladin Order Hall (which in itself was partially available in the Scourge invasion event in Vanilla and pre-WotLK). Or that gorgous green variant of the Warlock Tier 8 from Hellfire Citadel. Or, as the ultimate reward, the red-white Horde or the 7th Legion of Stormwind Tabard worn by many NPCs for years. But no. That's what I call a huge disappointment.
It would have been so nice to see the old sets from the pre-patch of older xpacs. Since some of us couldn't get them back then. Such a waste.
They could have added npc looking transmog or make it another way of getting teir 3 beside waiting for it to appear on the bmah (could make it cost a lot of tokens/marks or something) but nope. We get gear that you can just go out and farm :/
They should add this Transmog-Set.. cause of reasons..Blessed Battlegear of Undead Slaying
Really disappointing.
The Trial of Style is a great idea for those of us moggers....but these rewards are incredibly disappointing. Blizz took a fantastic idea and then gave us rewards that are already obtainable with a little farming. These sets also happen to be just...boring. I hope Blizz will implement better rewards to make this worth the participation like achievements, pets, unobtainable mog gear or maybe even a mount?
I would have been fine if all of them at least looked nice, but the quality of the appearance rewards are between Ensemble: Mana-Etched Regalia and Ensemble: Der'izu Armor for the different armor types. I'd be happy to grab the cloth set, but that mail set looks horrible! The leather set is rather hideous as well, and the plate is okay at best. Really disappointing, like they grabbed random sets out of a hat for each armor type and mail and leather got the short end of the stick by far.
Well I'm going to collect trial tokens anyway just in case something changes or they add something worth having.
