Isn't the Shepherd and the sheep a reference from the Bible? "Call us Legion for we are many" sort of thing? It appears to me that the journal is implying that Sargares wasn't the "true" leader of the Legion or maybe a new leader for the Legion? Maybe Alleria being overtaken by the shadow she imbued herself with is the new leader of the legion?
Personally I don't feel like Anduin will turn out to be a pawn of the old gods..? I may be wrong, but I bet on Wrathion. He is the heir to the Earth Warder, and Sargeras' blade is plunged into it afterall - could prove that this allows him to see through it. As to the whole Shepherd business... could be either Azshara, Jaina or Sylvanas, all of those options are very likely (although "beloved by a flock of blind sheep" doesn't really apply to Jaina as of late...) Can't wait to know more!
Old gods lore was always the best in WoW
The "her" is clearly Alleria, or have all of you forgotten about the audio drama? She flat out said she was going to eventually fall to the void and the old gods. The old Gods/Void are clearly going to be the big bad that reveals itself during the expansion, and she has the closest ties to it. The last time I checked she was the only one who knows the void is going to consume her in the near future.
Don't you idiots know anything? Il'gynoth's whispers are all fake, they're not real! Whispers are not real!
"Bound by a Throne? No... boundless." Sounds like it could be a reference to the Lich King, Bolvar Fordragon
I say Jaina because she already abandoned the world to the Legion, yet the alliance seems to flock to her like she's a savior.
I'm still leaning towards Alleria being a "bad guy". She's void-corrupted. She may not even realize it herself.
It scares me. Always scare me the Old Gods.Specially when ive read that part of the ram with seven eyes watching me over the window. I always look at the window when i remember about that to ensure me that the ram is not there.
Think about it...who would be, chronologically, essentially a young boy?Who would be as a "King", the last of his race?Who has lied, continually, to players in the past; offering them powerful rewards, in order to get them to do his bidding?Nothing, I said nothing.
Maybe the part saying 'Bound by the Throne' is the first lie itself (the void whispering to Anduin about how he's now lost his freedom?) Maybe the 'Shepherd' is Jaina, I still think she's the one that was referred to in the 'heart is a crater' whisper (after all home is where the heart is and her home is now a smoldering crater in Dustwallow Marsh)They've both lost many and seen people that they cared about seemingly 'abandoned' by the light, could make them very easy to manipulate by pulling the right strings.
Sorry if it has already been mentioned, but what about Elune or Xe'ra(The Light)? They have been portrayed as women and both have plenty of followers that would follow them blindly. It could also effectively tie Anduin to the quote about the "boy-king at the master's table," given his strong relation to the Light.
I don't think it has already been mentionned, but the only "blind sheep" of the Horde who would follow Sylvanas are the Forsaken... The other races aren't that loyal to her. So, her sending orcs, troll, belves, and so on to their own death for the sole purpose of rezzing them as undead seems too far-fetched to me. But I agree, she's dangerous, and (in my opinion, at least) her motives slowly shifted in the past expansions from "saving the people of Lordearon" to "saving herself"...
