Well, now we know. It's something to do before launch :)
FFS the tears in the comment section. I've taken huge breaks throughout this expansion and I've already hit exalted with all the old reps months ago and just recently hit exalted with all the new reps just recently. It's not that hard to do damn. All the people complaining are the ones who complained you had to unlock flying too. Heaven forbid you have to work for something. And to all the people saying it's going to be unfair to new players, who are you kidding? We all know you're not worried about new players and are just trying to hide the fact that you're too lazy to do it yourself.
Well since achievements are account wide it shouldn't matter on which fraction you did it. Or is my theory wrong ?
NEW Language Thalassian AllianceSo... My Void Elf will be able to speak Thalassian, but not understand it spoken by those he once knew?Pandaren get the ability to talk cross faction, and Demon Hunters, why create a distinct designation for Thalassian? Though, one does have to wonder (understandable as it is mechanically) how quick they forgot orcish and picked up common (again).
If at this point in time you don't have these unlocking achievements on your main character already, either :1.- you really like to afk in Dalaran; 2.- you took a long break/ started Legion quite late. Anyways - is not a hard grind and you can do it until the races are actually available to play (a few times over). Most are just "play the story" requirements, and AotL and AR reputations, while slower, are not that much of a deal. Easy slice of pie even for the most casual of the casuals. As for the " what have void elves to do with Argussian Reach"? Well, Alleria plays a major part in Mac' Aree's story and, to balance the requirements, that's the best option for a reputation lock they have. So, as a wise pandaren would say :" Whine not. Game is to be savored".
Let the whining commence! Seriously, just complain about it for the next few months. Blizzard will cave.
Whats the loch modan and dustwallow marsh thing about?
Looks like I'm hittin' Argus hard for the holidays...Not even Honored with the Reach yet.
To me it feels like Blizzard is just shooting themselves in the foot here. I have only two characters: a mage and druid. I didn't really play my mage that much this expansion, because my guild required me to heal/dps and I already did everything on my druid. I was considering going horde with my mage, because my guild is leaving for a horde centric server and I like the nightborne ( though I'm salty they're going horde for multiple reasons). So this means that I first need to lvl a horde character to lvl 110. Of course I could waste a free possible boost or transfer my mage into the races we have which is now around 45 euros to server and faction change. Fortunately I already am exalted with them, but then I need to an introduction quest and then I would have fess up another 20 euros to race change. For what? something cosmetic? Of course I could lvl a dk to 70 then a dh to 110, do the intro quest and then lvl from 20 as a new nightborne mage, because luckily they are making the achievement account wide. This however means I need to leave behind a beloved character. I don't want another character, because I want to keep everything I've collected on my mage that I've had since cata ( legendaries, professions, reputaions, etc...)Also the content for Horde and Alliance is different. The Horde allied races have two zones with massive questlines that will help you get to revered/exalted, but the Alliance allied racials do not. They have a few quests take less than an hour and then it's just wq's for them. So Horde have a clear advantage here.I also don't really do the catch up zones because I don't need them, I only did them for the story. They only offer cosmetics and mediocre gear for someone who raids. Argus is meant for legendary farm, catch up for alts and or new players who joined mid expansion to enjoy current content. For people who will be new to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and haven't played in Legion at all this will be even worse. Because you're forcing them to waste them on old content, rather than current. This is all a blatant cash grab in the form of transactions and forcing people to play more. There are too many hoops to get through and obvious unfair advantages and it simply puts me off. The only hype we really got was the Allied races and that's pretty much gone now. People are saying, it's only datamining and ptr, it's not fixed yet. Well if you don't let your displeasure be heard, this will be permanent! I know Wow is Blizzards property and they can do whatever they want with it, and we don't need to buy it if we don't like it, but as a customer we also have some power, because they want their product to be appealing and sell.
Fingers crossed for Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Highmountain Tauren and Nightborne playable with a BFA Pre-order!
If these reqs aren't account-wide, then I guess I won't be doing anything alliance-side ever again. Really wanted to make a void elf just for funzies but no way in Hades I will do all that rep stuff over again. :(
Heh, I knew Void Elves would need Argussian Reach. Bit surprised it's exalted, but it makes sense.Well, AR is the closest rep to them, but it doesn't make that much sense in that Alleria is the only void elf at the moment... But exalted makes sense for the rest.I think they should be released for anyone with Legion, though, prior to BFA since they are basically Legion-related races that unlock in Legion-related content with Legion-related objectives. Honestly, they should just be Legion allied races, and used to build up hype and introduce the new feature going into BfA.
