"You think you want the Water Strider passive, but we know you really don't."
WaterStrider change is so silly, giving the ability to everyone sounds nice, but working for something is even nicer
i dont see why blizzard had to put this update in the game. what was the point of getting the water strider if it's only going to lose the passive that it is so widely farmed for? great idea blizz, this doesn't piss anyone off at all. at least let the striders keep their waterwalking so people don't have to use their free equipment on their mounts just to keep the feature they got the mount for.
Why does Blizzard constantly insist on punishing people who actually play their game and farm up the cool stuff?By constantly nerfing/killing cool things, this is just SOP for them, seems like every day their briefings start with "How can we more efficiently reduce the amount of fun people can have playing our game? OK IDEAS NOW PEOPLE."Just leave the mount alone, if you want to ADD more things to other mounts, fine do that--I prefer my Strider to not get spayed/neutered, thanks.
Why is everybody so angry about being allowed to use your other mounts? I honestly do not get it. I would love to not use my strider but it makes travel easier so I do. But they are letting you use every mount like this and people are upset that the strider is losing its ability....it’s not. You equip the shoes and it will work again. You are literally losing NOTHING and gaining other stuff as well if you want it.....people need to stop complaining for the sake of complaining when given something. If they add a feature and literally take nothing away how is it a bad thing?
This is absolutely stupid, why can't they just leave it alone. Never had any problems with using either mount or the raft for water walking, took time to get them but that's Warcraft.
By taking away passive water walking from the water strider all they are actually doing is ensuring no one ever uses any of the other equipment they are providing. The other equipment just doesn't seem worth the trade off in my opinion. Also why should death knights be allowed to water walk and use equipment, how is that any different to letting the waterstrider keep its passive ability. The water stider will always be available to other players, theres nothing stopping anyone from getting it and it's easier than ever, the inflatable mount shoes solve an issue for players who don't want to get, and for players who want their other mounts to water walk. But for players who have the mount, and don't mind swapping to another mount to cross water, its a crappy trade off.If anyone will be able to water walk anyway, why not just add a vendor mount that has passive water walking and isn't gated behind rep and also isn't a massive gold sink. Then Everyone wins.
Just another example of Blizzard going downhill. Stupid decisions by stupid individuals. The water striders were a simple of dedication and perseverance but now lets just tell our customers that what they went through to get it means nothing. Basically Blizzard is just giving you a middle finger right to the face.
The biggest issue I have seen (and share) is that people are angry their low level alts lose water-walking.Of course Blizz just ignores that concern.Yeah, we can replace the water walking.... on characters above 100. Once you are that high you can fly anyway. Water walking was super useful for leveling lowbies, so we are losing the most useful bit.
With a post titled "response" I expected something more of an actual response. The whole system is a waste of development resources to fix a problem that only exists in their imagination. And should they truly believe players use the water striders too much, there is a proper fix already there: Allow us to fly again!(Not building stupid zones like Nazmir where you can never know if the next body of water is shallow enough to ride through or deep as an abyss would also help - rarely see water striders used in Vol'dun. :D )
