Devil's advocate here from a WW that plays with 2x rank 2 Twilight, this isn't a terrible nerf, this is clearly a nerf for the upcoming MDI qualifiers where everyone would be running 2x r2 Twilight Dev and it would just make it a competition of "who can pull the biggest and get the luckiest procs"This is still going to be the go to M+ corruption, although ungent caress is going to be even more valuable to dual wield dps like WWs, outlaws, havoc etc. That said, they could've waited until after fortifying teeming week :(

honestly why even screw with it at this point
Good thing twilight never procs on big pulls anyway. Anyone here saying this isn't a big enough nerf can sit and spin.
Instead of nerfing stuff, can they start buffing the awful corruptions? Or how about this for an idea, *remove* all corruptions that don't have special effects i.e. all the static stat ones. Keep the interesting ones and remove the fluff so you don't have a 1/52 chance to get what you actually need.
For raids or M+ it doesn't change a whole lot (unless you are one of those top freaks doing +25 keys or whatever). Yes it will make it weeker against bigger groups, but most of the big groups are either pretty week enemies to begin with, or you need some kiting anyway, because the affixes will kill you. Especially if you draw more than 10 enemies together. The biggest change will be for tanks in corrupted visions. It's pretty normal for tanks to pull more than 10 mobs, if not even the whole district, so a single rank 3 TD could easily do a 5 million burst. Now it's pretty much capped at about... 1.35 million, if you have a nice even 1 million HP. Which still isn't something to scoff at.I am a bit irritated about that "shrinks in size" stuff after 5 targets. It was unreliable at range anyway, so if you hit 6+ targets before, it won't even hit any enemy anymore going forward. Which might not always be a bad thing, considering that randomness could get you in trouble for pulling another group, if you positioned yourself wrong, or it just decided to go wherever. But all in all, I am kinda meh about it. I still will pull my whole district, because I am just used to it, and as DK I am waiting for the mobs to die of old age anyway.
Imagine being a game dev and being SO inept at math that you're still tuning crap 7 weeks into a patch...
I really like how they just wont let you have fun with the game. I got Echoing Void corruption and finally enjoyed playing a tank and felt useful for a change. In a week it got nerfed. Switched to dps because i had a weapon with Twilight Devastation. Now it got nerfed aswell. I feel like blizzard don't understand that the game should be fun and corruption system means you get rewarded for playing well around it. But no. Lets remove all the fun.
They need to make all the "+secondary for 4 seconds" variants more interesting. Call them all "Corrupt Cabal". The bonus is also given to another random party/raid member, but ONLY if they, too, are wearing a Corrupt Cabal, regardless if their secondary flavor matches you or not.Example, you have "Corrupt Cabal of Haste" for +1,000 Haste / 4s. Someone else has "Corrupt Cabal of Versatility" for +1,000 Vers / 4s. None one else in raid has any. If you proc, both you and the other wearer gets +1,000 Haste. If he does, you both get +1,000 Vers.A variant: the proc still only affects you, but for every other person in party/raid with Corrupt Cabal (regardless of which secondary stat they have it for), the duration is increased by +2s, max 4 stacks for +8s for +12s total.
Looks like the cap is gone on for coalescing visions...
Worst system ever added to the game. It's like some kids modding a pserver.
It was fun while it lasted
I just hope they won't make this corruption system the main focus throughout the whole Shadowlands xpac. As they ALWAYS test a new system usually in the mid or last patch of an xpac to implement fully in next, this is gonna make Shadowlands super crappy.Lets have your fingers ready to attack the PTR forums when they finally go up for 9.0 and tell them to GET THIS CRAPPY SYSTEM OUT of the game!
I think this is the right call. Nerfs edge case abuse, where players are pulling huge packs and letting the corruption do all the work. Has a minimal impact on most players.
This is actually a well thought out nerf. It really only affects the tactics just praying to RNG for oversized pulls. In normal play it only affects a small amount of pulls. A nerf was ABSOLUTELY needed, as much as I hate to say it because it's been carrying my questing/visions as a tank
I wonder when the corruption will be tuned for pvp... tentacles are doing so stupid damage for no reason..
actually i think it is a terrible way especially the shrinking.why not just say its 100% for 5 targets and like 50-33% for every other target. but no they have to totally make it useless against huge groups of weak adds
