Thanks for doing the math. I find it interesting that pre-made level 50 characters are given a full set of item level 75 gear in the Shadowlands Alpha. This implies that anyone with a current item level of 398 or higher shouldn't have any problems questing and leveling in Shadowlands once it goes live.It will be interesting to see what happens to our existing gear once character copy is enabled in the Alpha. Will we still have our legendary cloak and our Heart of Azeroth or will those be among the first things we end up replacing? And what about all the corruption we're carrying around?
Hey blizz, why don't you simply start increasing from 20 (Vanilla) and add 5 every expansion? The result would be still 60 and it is more comfortable to look at.
They should cancel this idotic destruction of leveling idea and give us level 130 instead.
What is about heirloom armor/weapon tiers? In BfA we have base item (1-60) and four upgrades (to 90, 100, 110, and 120). Is these quantity reduced somehow? Or only levels and ilevels have been squished?
Finally a proper stat and item squish. I will gladly buy game now. Im sick of big numbers
"There will not be a stat squish. It's very important that players feel just as powerful when they log in to play the expansion."The devs said that on an interview. I'm sick of so much squishing. Actually I HATE every squish. The LVL squish is the most disgusting squish of all. But seriously, nerfing iLVL, stats, and everything again. WHY? It's a sh*t.
pretty sure twinking will be dead
I've entered into my thirteenth year playing wow, and I love the lore, art work, immense world, and the friends I've made. I have played through the changes this game has had (and will continue) to make as it grows. I understand squishes are needed and make sense. We are aware; we have two main player groups: the regular casual who likes to tinker around and collect things (levels, ilevels, pets, mounts, and so on) and the end game content player who needs to quickly process data (the eye and brain work faster with few numbers). Blizzard can’t satisfy everyone 100% of the time, so maybe a fix down the road could be the following:Xpans Level Shadowlands Possible? ilvl Shadowlands Possible?Vanilla 60 25 20 58-59 34-35 40BC 70 27 25 80-89 38-39 50WotLK 80 30 30 100-102 41 60Cata 85 32 33 108-114 42 66MoP 90 35 35 116-130 43-45 70WoD 100 40 40 138-147 46-47 80Legion 110 45 45 168-240 50-54 90BfA 120 50 50 325-485 57-140 95-125Shadowlands --- 60 60 ------- ?-? 110-200Seventeen or Eighteen months, after the xpan launches, squish the previous xpan ilvl to match double the max level and signal the change to legacy looting.p. s.Heirlooms could scale to 75% of the character level’s matching ilvl.p. p. s.When an equipped item has a bonus attached, the bonus would add one click to the ilvl.eg. A sword with an ilvl of 60, being enchanted would now be ilvl 61. A character with an ilvl of 60 and an ench, armor kit, spike, tailor thread, socket, and/or glyph attached to all sixteen equipped items, now would have an ilvl of 76.Just a thought from someone on day 20 of quarantine. Good luck and stay safe.
What's the TL; DR for pre- & post Shadowlands launch character levels? Currently we have L20 (of 120) as a start - what will that be as we transition into Shadowlands? Will a fresh Allied Race - rolled "L10" (of effectively 50; seemingly old L24), in Shadowlands - be more 'powerful'...?Something tells me that a flat "divide now by 2.4" is going to be an overly simplistic approach to forward planning.
It'll be interesting to see how things will change in legion for some things like the order hall and the artifacts in regards to levels.because there are several quests for the order hall artifacts.like the holy paladin, shadow priest and arms warrior where flying is essential to reach areas where you need to fly to access them like Tyr's fall.it's possible that they'll rearrange things so that artifact quests are endstage. or they'll add on a free ride from npcs to the target zones from dalaran
so running old tiers - being our new 'current' levelling area - requires x level to wear, but can we run it prior to that level?
I'm sorry, but why would blizz EVER make it so you could NOT farm transmog. Anyone who asked this question needs to rethink a lot of warcraft things.
