The people that hate her don't truly like the Forsaken as people and don't want to empathizes with the people of Lordaeron. They just like this idea of an evil zombie aesthetic. Picturing them as always angry and violent, the minute Blizz tried to create layers to them, people pissed and moaned. It's not that "it's bad writing" or "Alliance sympathizing". Some of you guys are just toxic and don't want to recognize another feeling other than rage and hate. Calia could easily be a part of the Forsaken people and that doesn't have to be a queen but could be. She just wants to help her people that her brother wronged and you are mad that she is pretty and that she has dress with gold. And as a Horde player I personally would like to see a Horde the represents diversity and outclass not just as "The bad guys".
you know, i think blizzard is actually going to do this, if you look back through the quest "warchief of the horde", lilian voss's exact words are "No. I'll speak on my people's behalf, but I won't rule them. There is another I believe will prove better suited to that task... when the time is right.".so it isn't going to be lilian voss, and with lilian voss and calia having that story arc then I actually believe we are going to see calia lead the forsaken now with lilian supporting her.with sylvanas and nathanos abandoning the forsaken to do their own thing then there is no one else. What other undead had a story arc in bfa?it's calia who will be the new leader.
The edgelord vibes. They are stronk.Let's face it, she's the rightful Queen of Lordaeron and has more right to lead the Forsaken than Sylvanas ever did.I'll be happy playing my multiple Forsaken with her as my racial leader.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx7zI1W_5JI about Calia being Queen:P
The factions have an armistice in place for now, but should Calia be offered the position of actual leadership of the Forsaken she should take into consideration it requires her to wage war against her friends in the Alliance should war break out once more.Personally I don't like the situation the Forsaken have found themselves in. The only two prominent characters eligible for singular leadership position are technically freshly added to the faction. Voss wasn't Forsaken until BFA, where they did manage to make her a better character than how she used to be. And Calia was never part of the Forsaken, her only tie to them being royalty of the fallen kingdom the Forsaken are the remnants of. The faction was so focused on Sylvanas that they couldn't create interesting characters to its ranks. Faranell and Belmont have something of a cult following, but they're not quite glamorous enough to elevate from where they stand now. It would be another Lor'thewho-situation for years until Blizz did something with them.Probably the most palatable solution for Forsaken fans would be a council, especially since the point is to get the Forsaken move past their history with cult of personality. Before The Storm already introduced an administrative council consisting of Forsaken civilians to manage things in their queen's absence. That one was obliterated, but I think a new council formed by branch-leaders would work fine. Faranell representing RAS, Belmont the Deathguard and maybe Deathstalkers, Velonara the Dark Rangers that chose to remain in the Forsaken, including the night elven portion (Delaryn could be in supportive role to Velonara). And finally, Voss acting as the chair of the council. That way we'd have a balanced leadership consisting of people who've been in the Forsaken from its inception as well as a celebrity to give it credibility. If Calia isn't assassinated out of the picture I suppose she can be there lending spiritual guidance to the Forsaken who need it. But no leadership of any sort.
Another Alliance character handed over to the horde. What a shocking and unprecedented development. :|
WoW lore was always bad, and the moment they introduced the Forsaken and Sylvanas in Wc3 it smelt like a bad idea. Never got how "freewill" Forsaken would worship some elf whos first act was to betray and slaughter the humans.
If they had left the Undercity alone in BFA it would have made sense from a lore perspective to have the former Princess of Lordaeron, now undead herself, come back to claim her throne as Queen and still be able to keep the Undead in the Undercity. However, Blizz kind of put the nail in the coffin (to coin an undead joke) on that idea when they trashed the ruins of Lordaeron. Now, any attempt to move her into the Horde will just look like a power play from the Alliance. With that said, I really hope they don't put her in that position, as I said it made sense before but doing it now just wouldn't really make all that much sense.
I like that Calia character, but Lilian Voss should be the next leader. It was a previously established character, with a very cool quest chain, she's strong willed, totally undead but not immoral. A difficult character trying to do what she can with what she has. Like it should be for the forsaken of the world.
i'm looking forward to it. :)
I can't wait to see what comes for these characters. These spoilers reveal that they will be a part of the conversation and story and that makes me happy.
