RemovedAnd we still have people in this thread defending Classic, saying stuff like:
I'm really surprised by the amount of vitriol you people bring to the comments just because a bunch of people decided to do a fun run. Seriously though, okay, everyone gets it, vanilla isn't as hard as people thought. But do you really think any of the vanilla enthusiasts wanted the game to be easy? No, not really. Did any of the pserver players want vanilla to be easy? No, they played on overtuned 'Blizzlike' content for years. Is it all about the difficulty? No, it's not. It's also about the design decisions and underlying philosophies that went into the game and are long gone from the modern version of it. I, for one, would welcome back talent trees and my character not forgetting their spells just because I changed a spec. And for f*cks sake, it's not a competition between the players of the two versions of the game over which one "reigns supreme" or anything petty like that.
At least they need to do couple of tactical moves unlike bfa where people pop hero with 30 mages for 14 seconds kills.
Now we know why people went with #nochanges.
Talents were buffed and some classes got changes but not a single raid was touched in any way during that patch.
No, it was easy back then too
For me the challenge of Classic was never going to be mechanical. It’s not that kind of game. The tight tubing and very high skill cap of the modern game is simply incomparable to the “spam frostbolt” gameplay of Vanilla. The challenge of Classic for me was always going to be the server-bound, immersive world aspects and the lack of self-sustain as a warrior. Finding friends. Forming groups. Actually running to instances. No flying. PvP at instance portals. Inability to solo multiple mobs (as a warrior). All of that Classic has delivered in spades. As a single-player game, it’s much harder than modern WoW which really can be played as a single player game with LFG conveniences and self-sustain ease.
Retail is harder in some ways to classic. Classic's leveling and gearing takes a while and is quite hard, however, comparing classic raiding to retail raiding is a complete joke. Sure it takes a lot longer to gether stuff for pots and food, but mechanics and individual responsibilty really challenges people on retail.
Removed. Speedruns exist of people beating Ninja Gaiden in under 12 min, does that mean Ninja Gaiden was NEVER hard or still isn't today? Can you and 39 others beat Onyxia naked? Go ahead, do it and film it, then tell everyone it was easy.https://www.twitch.tv/videos/272848733Removed
