I always had an addon that did it, but I've playing for quite some time now (Not since vanilla but since WoTLK) and I can remember the entrance to all dungeons and raids, so I don't use it quite as often. I most use to take screenshots of my maps to show to some friend who does not know where to go. But it's nice to see everyone will be able to see them now!
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
It’s good they’re integrating what addons are already doing, but it does sort of feel like “why did it take them so long?”
As the developer of the Instance Portals AddOn, which really just took a system introduced in Legion and backported it to WoD, at the time, and added older dungeon/raid entrances, I was always expecting this to come to the base game someday. Some of the instances started showing on the base map over the last few patches of 8.x (I guess those related to timewalking, maybe), so writing's been on the wall for a while. It's great that they're doing it, because I think it's a really helpful feature.I haven't made any decisions about what to do with the AddOn for now (it still offers instance portals on the continent maps, which goes a little beyond what WoW does normally), and not being in the beta I haven't had a chance to update it for 9.0 and Shadowlands content, but I'll figure things out at launch. I'll miss the occasional Amazon gift voucher it earned on Curse, though :-D
Finally. It was a pain finding raid entrances for xpacs I skipped.
So glad that they're adding this; Now I can ditch my map add-on, finally.
Goodbye Handy Notes!
love it when i can unintall addon's... game already takes forever to load due to all the dang addons i need to run to make the game playable. welcome addition!
Yes, finally!
What about floor clickers for old raids? I still get lost in some of them, heh.
The one on the pic must be the one behind the small mining town Moonbrook in WestfallBut a very convienient addition
Blizz should backport these changes to Classic.
Wow you are fast, they added it some time ago.
