If I were a Blizzard employee, the toxicity from the WOW community, would be reason enough for me to leave the company.
I don't get the drama, Metzen already left Blizzard long time ago and a tabletop company isn't exactly a rival... I guess he still will voice Thrall as a freelancer, like he continued to despite leaving Blizzard
This is such great news! These guys shaped the videogames that I personally fell in love with, and I cannot wait to be introduced to these new worlds they are building :D
What I got from all the interviews of all developers that opened a studio is that they miss the times when being a gaming developer or writer was not a job but was trully treated as an art and not a cold-hearted and cynic world with making money as a priority. Dont get me wrong , I get that a studio needs money to survive but that was second place.
This was how warcraft began. Chris Metzen designed these worlds and stories based off tabletop games he created for his friends.I'm super interested in what he comes up with next. <3
I wanna be friends with Chris Metzen. He always seems like the best kind of person to be around. I just want to hang out and play games with the guy because he seems super chill all the time.
Glad hes happy and found something he can enjoy again. WoW has not been the same without him since he left but his journey is the same i feel WoW needs to take to really get better also.
Oh no, Blizz is losing people for a physicial platform, how in the world are they going to recover from this blow to they digital platform?
Not really. Play it or don't. Nothing else
Big likes and glad he's found his joy again
Tells you the trashbags on the forums and people demanding stuff left and right are wearing out the devs. Time for everyone to mature up, don't just look at Blizzard. Yes Blizzard can and should do betterFans / Customers / and people in general need to BE better to them as well.
The number of people who believe that only certain people have the "magic" needed to make something successful is kinda crazy. I wish Chris well and hope that his new tablestop system goes well :D
