Before the revamp of Acherus in WotLK Beta, this NPC was a quartermaster for the Knights of the Ebon Blade faction.

He was taken out when Acherus was expanded, forcing Death Knights to complete the Shadow Vault quest chain in Icecrown to access an Ebon Blade quartermaster, just as other classes must.

This NPC has been re-added in 4.3 in Ebon Hold. He sells all starting DK Green gear (including the Massacre Sword that was only around for Death Knights created in the Wotlk F&F Alpha), and the quest reward Blue gear. ~~As of now, the only items he is missing are 2 of the capes, Sky Darkener's Shroud of Blood and Shroud of the North Wind. Thankfully these are fairly easy styles to get for cloaks.~~ New PTR build, these capes have been added. Everything possible is on the vendor!

The Massacre Sword looks identical to Rune Blade of Baron Rivendare/Runed Soulblade, but has different stats.

Also, as of writing, everything is dirt cheap because everything has a low sell value. You can pick up a full set for less than 15s.

I tried to buy the gear on a different class and no: he wont sell you DK gear unless you are a DK. ;)

This guy sells all of the Death Knight starting gear, from the greens you start out with to the blues you finish the quest chain with. So don't worry if you sold it back then, you can just rebuy it. The gear is also usable for Transmogrification, and it still looks great at level 85.

EDIT: For you non-DKs, you might want to pick up this set instead:Saronite War Battleplate (Lookalike).

It isn't possible to buy this armor unless you are a DK. But there is an option to get armor that is like the death knights starting quest reward items, which is from Naxxramas. each boss has a chance to drop armor pieces that looks like the deathknight armor that other classes may use for transmog. The matching boots do not actually come from any of the bosses in naxx, it is infact crafted by a blacksmith, Botines de acero de titanes templado.

Edit: added where to get the matching boots for the Naxx DK look alike quest set.

Does not sell Insignia de la Plaga. This would seem to be the one item from the original DK sets that he does not carry.

Since this guy is in the DK starting zone:
~~When does he get unlocked? Is he there from the time you create your character on, or does he only appear once you've finished the quest chain?~~ If he's always there, does the gear unlock as you finish the quests?
~~Geographically, is he on the ground or in Acherus? Hard to tell from the map.~~

edit: I looked around and answered some of the above questions. He's an abomination in Acherus, on the lower level where you get the runeblade, etc. I have only completed the quest chain up to the bracers quest and there's nothing in the window for me, so I'm assuming that he doesn't sell anything until you've finished the whole chain.

He sells the Starting armour, swords, and the quest armour aswell, and some cloaks. All for Dirt cheap. Just need to use your portal to dk place and then fly over there.

Best Dk transmog gear Imo.

Would like him to sell the Campeón caballero de la Muerte gear as well, aside from the Naxxramas set (made for Paladins). I don't think it is appropriate for a Death Knight to farm Naxxramas if he/she is already a "Death Knight Champion". :P

I got excited, thinking I could mog the DK plate onto my Paladin. The Wowhead xmog guide showed the plate for my paladin.

It's worth mentioning that she's exalted with Knights of the Ebon Blade. I flew to Acherus, talked with this guy, and nothing for sale.

Don't waste your time.

Not sure if this is intended, but the blue quest reward gear that you were awarded for various quests in that old death knight starting zone seems to scale with level.
That gives you the ability to death gate to acherus at any point in the game and buy dirt cheap gear that is better than heirlooms.
Seems a bit borken, yeah...
