Figuring out how much time I spend earning Gold is tricky. I spend maybe 15 minutes at the AH, twice a day if I can but at least once a day if at all possible. But I make most of my gold passively or semi-passively. Gold Mission on 4 characters, twice daily, adds up nicely. I also try to tackle Emissaries as much as I can on the 4 as they usually award gold and/or Resources, and especially Argus gold WQ's. Recently my materials side-job has slowed as Legion winds down, so I am taking a peak at crafting - Cooking and Blacksmithing (with the Corehound mount recipe) since they are the only ones I bothered leveling to 800.I haven't gotten into flipping very much as I keep putting off installing TSM: it's pretty daunting and I hate the feeling of "wasting" an entire afternoon getting it all set up when I could just be playing and cycling through all my characters. That said, there are a few choice things I keep an eye on on the 2 servers I'm invested in. None of them have high ticket prices but they are reliable. I'm also still "Garrison Farming" Sumptuous Fur for Hexweave Bags and AH sale when prices are high, but the Bag prices have dipped lower than I like to see recently so I'm holding onto a few for when more people come back in early BfA.
Okay, i need to get my order halls up and running. With 12 110's, i could be rolling in gold, instead of a measly 2m and still not even a spider mount :( This was invaluable to read. Cheers
Done all the archeologhy achievements in Legion but didnt know that this pet was tradeable. Maybe i can start digging again :)
Concerning the money-farming topic: I dont focus on making money in the game, because there is way too much to do which is more fun to me. I farmed a lot of stuff (e.g. herbalism) and sold it on the auction house but it has been a while because I had a lot of stuff to do with pvp and raids etc.I really dont like farming for gold so i prefer to spend less time on making gold.As i said earlier I focus on doing pvp (battleground, arena, Brawl etc.) and some raids, mythic+ with my guild. But more casual.Questions:How much time do you dedicate to gold-making? Would you prefer to spend more or less time making gold? What are your other main activities in game?
I haven't done much of the digging in Legion, I was so keen to but then echero happened.... I mean that ghost moose was worth it but everything after that drained me more then I bargained for. I wish I had enough time to farm gold too, but tbh if I wanted to do that all day I would just play EVE.
I started digging at the end of the expansion (and I completed only 5 quests or so). But I remember how I did Eche'ro's quest in two hours. That is actually the reason why I decided to give archeology a break :)Hope in BfA we will have some interesting plots (and toys!), not just digging for the sake of the digging.
I look forward to Archaeology, cause it's very relaxing. I'd love to see more mounts of it and I miss the old way of digging - you had a journal entry and you knew what you were gathering the pieces for. I also remember that digging was the only available activity after WoD launch, since everything else was lagging XD
"You have to be efficient with your time" - i think buying a token is just right for you. Depending on price you will have to work significantly less irl than you would have to in game for comparable revenue.
I'm a little bit disappointed with the gold making potential differences of some of the professions. Especially being a long time jewelcrafter, having made some decent business in the past, to now where gems are near worthless, they're nearly completely unwanted if peoples gear roll the wrong way. You can make pennies, compare that to a tailor who can sell a single back for 2-3k, and can make several in the same way I can cut gems, but the gold return is much more worth it. I'm like everyone now, I guess, working towards the 5 million for the AH mount and I have a long way to go, but I can easily offset any profit I made with gems by losing it all to repair costs induced by mythic dungeoning. Guess I'll have to find a new money making method and soon!
Zandalar tribe rep always just reminds me of how much i farmed zg on my old druid, but never got the tiger mount. The feat of strength basically says to me, at least you tried. I'm not opposed to bringing it back, personally i think destroying the raid and the stuff that went with it was a complete was of nice items/recipes and removed one of the nicer old raids. At least now if the rep does appear again, i can grind it on my other characters instead and hopefully it'll lead to more avenues of acquiring removed tranmogs looks in the future.
I feel like order hall is best gold income, 12 chars, 10 mins a day, cca 500k raw gold each monthproblem is it takes some time to do all argus quests
Good points on the gathering money making. I was making gold from herbalism myself but always got motion sick after couple tens minutes, so no more for me. I guess I will have to keep gambling with my guildmates for easy gold for that sweet Brutosaur 3:)
So I have recently started doing more work on well... gold making. I used to do a little bit *before* Legion but had taken a bit of a break till recently and want to get into making gold again. Currently just selling mats at the moment but I get the occasional pet sale or gear piece sale here and there. I want to work on crafting mounts for profit and get that done. As for archaeology, didn't know the tip about the pet, will definitely be going out and getting that pet to sell later for sure!Right now I am trying to finish up as much Class Hall missions for all my characters to get a good method going to grab the free gold, at least for the next month or so. Anything counts!
Only really did archeology on my main char for the highmountain quest mount. I think there should be more like this in BFA alot of ppl like me need a little push to do it and something that makes is worth too do.
i have done alot of digging. I am looking to get my achiev (This side up) to unlock my artifact weapon
Can't wait to put in some effort and time into getting that bronto!
On Archeology, I've managed... two digs. One for the spooky moose (a ghoost?), and the one in Azsuna. I can't say I've ever been too excited over Archeology except when mounts are involved, but the artifact tint has had me trying to convince myself to try it every now and then.
